We’re seeking a full-time Accountant to join our lean and dynamic Finance team. This person will report directly to the VP of Finance and manage the day-to-day accounting operations while working cross-functionally to ensure accurate financial reporting across emerging verticals. This is a unique opportunity to step into a role with broad exposure to the full financial landscape of a venture-backed hospitality technology company.

What you'll do:

  • Own daily accounting operations, including journal entries, reconciliations, and maintaining accurate financial records

  • Prepare timely and accurate monthly financial statements in accordance with GAAP

  • Track capital expenditures and ensure spend stays aligned with budgets, especially as new homes and units come online

  • Analyze financial performance at the home, unit, and company level, identifying trends and key drivers

  • Partner with Product Engineering to develop and refine automated reporting solutions

  • Support cash flow tracking, forecasting, and reporting

  • Assist with audits, tax filings, and process improvements across the finance function

What we're looking for:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field

  • 3+ years of experience in an accounting or finance role, preferably in a fast-paced startup or real estate environment

  • Solid understanding of U.S. GAAP and FASB standards

  • Proficiency with Excel and financial reporting tools

  • Comfortable handling multiple priorities independently in a remote, async-first team

  • Excellent communicator with a collaborative mindset; able to partner effectively across teams including Operations, Sales, and Engineering

  • High attention to detail and strong problem-solving skills

Bonus Points for:

  • Experience working with property management systems, SaaS tools, or real estate/hospitality businesses

  • Familiarity with Sage Intacct, NetSuite, or similar platforms

  • Interest in continuous improvement and building systems from scratch

  • Passion for Wander’s mission and vision — travel, tech, and transforming the way people live and work

About Wander:

Wander is building the infrastructure for the future of travel — combining a luxury short-term rental platform with proprietary software tools that power operations, elevate the guest experience, and create a seamless connection between supply and demand. We recently closed our Series B and are scaling across both our software and marketplace businesses.

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
