Position Summary:
With bold and innovative design, Curio is a new premium home goods brand that appeals to discerning interior enthusiasts who thrive on discovering new designs and appreciate form, function, and fashion. Curio has received unprecedented recognition in less than six months after launch, making many top influencer platforms, including Oprah's list of top gifts. Expanding our footprint into retail, Curio is now looking for a dynamic Account Sales Executive to join this new direct-to-consumer home and lifestyle brand team and lead Curio's exclusive premium retail channel sales strategy to find one key retailer partner in target affluent cities. Curio's strategy is to offer citywide exclusivity retail partnerships in return for brand elevation and placement within the store.
What You'll Do:
As an Account Sales Executive, you will be an experienced sales professional, acting as an executive representative for Curio, and play a pivotal role in driving sales and opening key exclusive retail accounts to showcase Curio's premium brand. Your responsibilities will also encompass managing retailer relationships and elevating the brand experience. Your keen eye for high-level design and taste will be essential in representing Curio effectively.

  • New Business Generation: Identify premium, tastemaker exclusive retailers in key cities across the United States such as San Francisco, Sausalito, Miami, Nashville, New York, or the Hamptons for exclusive Curio distribution and sell-in
  • Establish and close new business opportunities. The goal in YR 1 is to establish and open 20 - 50 key exclusive retail accounts across US cities to showcase Curio products. Track, monitor, and report on results and progress
  • Customer Relationship: Develop and maintain strong relationships with exclusive retail partners, acting as their primary point of contact for new launches.
  • Leverage high-level design sensibilities to enhance the brand and in-store brand experience
  • Champion Curio's Brand and product values and aesthetics within the retail environment
  • Collaborate with retailers to showcase Curio's product line and strategize with retailers to position Curio's in-store brand presence, maximizing product placement and promotion
  • Merchandise retailer assortment for design and success constantly reassessing potential
  • Curate Curio merchandising strategy and product display that centers around store layout, product placement, signage, lighting, and promotions
  • Support in-store Brand representation. Promote, showcase, and demonstrate our products to potential customers at retail locations and events
  • Events: Evaluate, organize, and attend events/pop-ups and attend trade shows as needed
  • Account Status Reports: Regularly report on account status and transactions. Identify and report on market trends and customer feedback
  • Prepare analysis and business presentations for Quarterly Business Reviews and market visits
  • Suggest actions to improve sales performance and identify growth opportunities
  • Partner with Sales, Marketing, Forecasting, and Distribution teams to ensure a high level of support for sales and retail partner support
  • Other duties may be assigned

Bring it!

  • Minimum of 7 years' Sales Account Manager or Sales Account Executive experience in premium or luxury retail industry.
  • Premium and/or Specialty Store account experience is a requirement.
  • Sales Skills: Hands-on experience with a commitment to excellent customer experiences.
  • Exhibits "hunter" mentality and possesses outstanding ability to close sales.
  • Design Sensibilities: High-level design taste and an eye for aesthetics.
  • Experience working with designers preferred.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent financial acumen: ability to analyze spending, promotional spending, and forecasting.
  • Strong presentation skills.
  • Proactive and self-motivated with a results-oriented mindset.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and CRM software.
  • Flexibility to work evenings and weekends, as required, and up to 50% travel may be required.

Salary range: $100,000 - $150,000 (DOE)
