Who We Are

🏔Product: TLDR is the largest network of tech newsletters in the world, with over 7M subscribers covering everything from startups and software engineering to AI, cybersecurity, product, and more. Every issue is written by builders in tech. Both TLDR Crypto writers both work at Coinbase, TLDR Dev is written by engineers from DeepMind and Meta, TLDR AI is written by researchers from Anthropic and Adobe. That’s why TLDR is the best way to stay current on what truly matters in tech.

💪Team: Our 24-person full time team includes alumni of TikTok, Business Insider, Morning Brew, and other top media brands.

📈Traction: We doubled our revenue from 2024 to 2025 and are looking to double revenue again in 2026. We are supported by advertisers who want to reach tech’s decision makers, including AWS, Google Cloud, Anthropic, Slack, Notion, and GitHub.

About the Role

We’re looking for a strategic, revenue-minded Account Manager who can own post-sale client relationships across a book of 70+ active accounts. You’ll ensure flawless campaign delivery, deepen client partnerships, and identify new opportunities for growth. This role is a mix of relationship management, strategic consulting, and data-driven performance analysis.

In this role, you will:

  • Own post-sale client relationships, ensuring satisfaction, retention, and growth.

  • Lead client onboarding, campaign management, and delivery in collaboration with Ad Ops.

  • Proactively identify renewal and upsell opportunities across your account base.

  • Analyze campaign performance, communicate insights, and deliver actionable recommendations.

  • Partner closely with Sales, Ops, and Ad Ops to streamline handoffs and improve execution.

  • Maintain accurate forecasting, pipeline, and account health data in HubSpot.

  • Prioritize your book of business by potential, ensuring the right level of service across accounts.

  • Surface process improvements and client insights to help shape TLDR’s product and sales strategy.

What Success Looks Like
  • 90%+ renewal rate across managed accounts.

  • 120%+ net revenue retention (NRR) within 12 months.

  • Consistent 10–20% quarterly upsell growth.

  • 98%+ on-time, error-free campaign delivery.

  • Clear, trusted forecasting and account reporting cadence.

  • Strong collaboration with AEs and Ad Ops on key accounts.

About You
  • 3+ years of Account Management or Client Success experience in digital media, advertising, or newsletters.

  • Proven track record of owning renewals, upsells, and revenue targets.

  • Strong understanding of campaign metrics, reporting, and optimization.

  • Proficient in CRM tools (HubSpot or equivalent) and revenue forecasting.

  • Exceptional communication and relationship management skills.

  • Comfortable managing a large, diverse book of business.

  • Collaborative, organized, and confident working autonomously.

  • A+ Skills:

    • You’ve managed advertising or sponsorship campaigns end-to-end.

    • You balance empathy with commercial instincts — both client-first and performance-driven.

    • You thrive in high-growth, fast-moving environments with evolving processes.

    • You think like a partner, not a vendor — and can speak the language of tech and media.

    • You’re naturally curious, proactive, and driven to make things better.

You’re Not a Fit If You…
  • Haven’t worked in the media, advertising, or sponsorship space.

  • Need highly prescriptive direction or prefer narrowly defined responsibilities.

  • Don’t enjoy operating in ambiguity or startup environments.

  • Lack familiarity with the tech/startup ecosystem.

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
