🚀 About PermitFlow

PermitFlow is building AI agents for the $1.6T construction industry. We’re creating the leading pre-construction platform, starting with the $12B permitting market.

Our platform automates the slow, manual permitting process for builders, handling everything from jurisdiction research to application preparation, submission, and real-time tracking. By turning fragmented regulations and workflows into structured, intelligent systems, we help contractors move faster, reduce risk, and scale with confidence.

We've raised over $36.5M with Kleiner Perkins leading our Series A, with participation from Initialized Capital, Y Combinator, Felicis Ventures, and Altos Ventures. Our backers include founders and executives from OpenAI, Google, Procore, ServiceTitan, Zillow, PlanGrid, Uber, and more.

We are a team of architects, engineers, permitting experts, and product builders who know the pain of pre-construction firsthand and are committed to solving it. Demand is growing faster than we can keep up, and we’re looking for top talent to help us scale.

Who you are?
  • Proven Account Manager: You have experience managing a portfolio of 5–6 figure B2B SaaS accounts, with a strong track record of renewals and upsells.

  • Revenue-Driven: You view customer management through the lens of growth — identifying expansion opportunities and working cross-functionally to drive account value.

  • Strategic Partner: You excel at understanding customer business needs and translating them into actionable account plans that generate mutual success.

  • Process-Oriented Operator: You thrive in an early-stage environment, helping to shape account management playbooks and contributing to scalable systems.

  • Analytical Communicator: You're confident using data to influence customer conversations, evaluate health signals, and identify churn or upsell risks early.

What You’ll Do:

As an early Account Manager at PermitFlow, you’ll be responsible for owning the commercial relationship with a portfolio of construction and real estate development clients — driving value, revenue, and retention.

  • Manage a book of business consisting of contractors and developers; build and deepen relationships with decision-makers and influencers.

  • Own the full account lifecycle — from implementation oversight to ongoing engagement, renewal, and expansion.

  • Develop strategic account plans that identify growth opportunities (e.g., new projects, regions, or service lines).

  • Lead renewal negotiations and coordinate expansion discussions in partnership with Sales and Customer Success leadership.

  • Collaborate closely with Permit Operations to ensure high-quality onboarding and ongoing service delivery.

  • Monitor account health and proactively mitigate churn risk through structured interventions.

  • Partner with Product and Ops to advocate for customer needs and influence our roadmap.

  • Help build our GTM foundation by contributing to processes, playbooks, and future hiring as the team scales.

This is a foundational role — perfect for someone eager to take ownership, influence company direction, and be a driving force behind PermitFlow’s growth.

🙌 Qualifications & Fit:
  • 4+ years of experience in a B2B SaaS Account Management, Sales, or Customer Success role (startup experience preferred)

  • Proven track record of renewals, upsells, or account growth

  • Strong negotiation and presentation skills

  • Self-starter who thrives in ambiguous and evolving environments

  • Experience in construction, permitting, or real estate tech is a major plus

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
