Who are we looking for?

Choice Hotels, one of the world’s largest lodging franchisors, has an exciting new opportunity as our Account Manager - Groups & MICE to join our Global Sales Organization team. At Choice Hotels, groups and meetings are a strategic priority representing high-growth opportunities. As the Account Manager – Groups & MICE, you will focus on growing small and emerging accounts within this dynamic market. You’ll be responsible for driving group revenue by building relationships with key stakeholders in intermediary, tour and travel, and association accounts. This high-energy, self-motivated professional will play a vital role in delivering value to our customers and owners by connecting the right clients with the right Choice brands. Approximate portfolio size of 40 accounts and $5M annually.

Your Responsibilities

  • Manage a portfolio of small and mid-sized intermediary, tour and travel, and association accounts. Understand their unique group travel needs, provide strategic hotel recommendations, and work to increase group bookings and brand loyalty within this segment

  • Prospect and cultivate new opportunities by engaging with intermediaries, tour and travel companies, associations, and other relevant stakeholders. Attend industry events and use market data to build a qualified pipeline of accounts aligned with Choice’s growth objectives

  • Work cross-functionally with Inside Sales, Hotel DOSMs/GMs/Owners to deliver custom proposals and increase conversion. Maintain disciplined tracking in Salesforce and monitor performance against individual sales KPIs

  • Represent Choice Hotels at key customer events, industry tradeshows, and client meetings. Travel up to 50% to engage face-to-face with clients, strengthen relationships, and secure new business

Your Experience, Skills & Competencies

  • BA/BS degree or 3+ years of experience in hospitality sales or business development

  • Knowledge of the meetings & events sales process.

  • Experience with CRM systems like Salesforce is a plus

  • A strong understanding of sales pipelines

  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills

  • Strong work ethic, self-starter mentality, and passion for delivering measurable results

  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, customer-focused environment

  • Must be able to uphold Choice’s Values & Performance Principles of collaboration, performance excellence, sense of urgency, innovation, inclusion & diversity, integrity & trust, customer focus, and respect

  • Ability to travel up to 50% of the time

Your Work Location

As our Account Manager - Groups & MICE, you will be a remote-based associate working from home. You will be required to connect virtually with Choice team members and leadership on video via Zoom and/or Microsoft Teams, with possible periodic in-person travel to our beautiful, state-of-the-art worldwide offices in Rockville, MD, or Scottsdale, AZ. Frequent nationwide travel will be required up to 50% of the time to visit conventions, franchisees, etc.

Salary Range

The salary range for this position is $72,960 to $88,600 annually, plus commission via participation in Choice’s Global Sales Incentive Plan.

Field/Remote — Select roles designated as field/remote will require associates to work from a home office, connecting virtually with Choice team members and leadership on Zoom, with possible required travel depending on the role.
