  • Ensure plans are responsive to changing market conditions, consumer behaviour, media trends and client priorities.
3. Technical Oversight & Quality Control
  • Maintain a strong working knowledge of media planning, communications strategy, digital ecosystems, performance marketing, measurement, optimisation and media investment principles.
  • Review and evaluate recommendations from specialist teams, providing constructive challenge and strategic direction where required.
  • Interpret campaign performance, audience, investment and measurement outputs to inform decision-making and optimisation.
  • Ensure the quality, consistency and strategic coherence of deliverables before they are presented to the client.
  • Promote best practice, innovation and the effective use of data, technology and AI within integrated media planning and delivery.
4. Team Leadership & Operations
  • Align specialist teams around shared client objectives, priorities, timelines and deliverables.
  • Facilitate effective collaboration across strategy, planning, investment, digital, performance, commerce, data, analytics and other specialist functions.
  • Remove roadblocks, resolve competing priorities and drive accountability for delivery.
  • Provide coaching, guidance and constructive challenge to team members, supporting the development of future account and strategic leaders.
  • Maintain strong planning governance, documentation, financial discipline and compliance with agency processes.
  • Identify opportunities to improve workflows, collaboration and ways of working across the account.
5. Commercial Growth
  • Take an active role in revenue retention, organic growth and the identification of new business opportunities within the account.
  • Identify opportunities to expand scope, introduce new capabilities and increase the value delivered to the client.
  • Contribute to commercial negotiations, resource planning and effective management of account economics.
  • Support delivery against client profitability, revenue and business growth targets.
  • Balance client value, quality of delivery and commercial sustainability in decision-making.
Success Measures

Success in this role will be demonstrated through the candidate's ability to:

  • Build trusted relationships with key client and internal stakeholders quickly.
  • Develop a strong understanding of the client's business, marketing priorities, planning methodology and governance processes.

  • Drive stronger collaboration and operational efficiency across specialist teams.
  • Deliver measurable client and business outcomes through integrated media solutions.
  • Identify and convert opportunities for account growth and scope expansion.

  • 8–12 years' experience in media strategy, communications planning, integrated media or account leadership.
  • Proven experience leading complex client relationships and multidisciplinary teams.
  • Strong experience across both traditional and digital media, with a track record of delivering integrated planning solutions.

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
