Founding Account Executive

Von by Rattle is an AI sales analyst built to answer go-to-market questions that typically get stuck in the BI backlog.

Problem we’re trying to solve
Teams ask questions in plain English, and Von reasons across CRM data, customer calls, emails, data warehouses, internal knowledge, and external signals to explain what is happening and why. It delivers decision-ready answers in minutes, not weeks.

Von is built for high-frequency, cross-functional questions across Sales, RevOps, Customer Success, and Leadership, replacing manual analysis and slow reporting with immediate, explainable insights.
We are early in the journey with Von, with a clear path to rapid growth, built on five years of experience scaling Rattle with modern revenue teams. Our goal is to eliminate the manual drudgery of go-to-market operations by making answers fast, explainable, and decision-ready across the entire revenue stack.

Backed by Tier-A investors, including Lightspeed, Insight Partners, Google Ventures, and Sequoia.

About the opportunity
We're looking for our first sales hire. Not our first Account Executive following a proven playbook, but our first, founding sales hire.
You'll work directly with our CEO to build Von's sales motion from the ground up. That means figuring out what works, what doesn't, and why. You'll own the full cycle, build relationships with revenue leaders, and have a key role in influencing our GTM motion.
As we build on our success together, you'll become our first sales manager as we begin to scale. We're looking for someone who's driven to hit their number and wants sales leadership as their career path.

What you'll do
* Own the full sales cycle—prospecting, discovery, demo, close, expansion
* Build relationships with revenue leaders (VP Rev Ops, CROs, VP Sales) and become a trusted advisor, not just a vendor
* Partner with our CEO and VP of Marketing on messaging, positioning, and go-to-market strategy based on what you're hearing
* Show value in creative ways—our product does something genuinely different, and the best demos won't follow a script

You're a great fit if
* You have 4-5 years of selling B2B SaaS, ideally in the GTM space
* You've successfully sold while at a startup before and want to do it again because you're inspired to build something new and get obsessed with contributing to startup success
* You can have a real conversation about a customer's problems without defaulting to pitch mode
* You want to grow into sales leadership and build a team
* Comfort with AI tools (or excitement to learn them)—we expect you to use Von for updating Salesforce, researching accounts, planning your pipeline, and making your sales process more effective

What We Offer
* Competitive salary and equity
* Meaningful scope from day one — you'll own things, not just support them
* A sharp, low-ego team that moves fast and communicates directly
* In-office culture in San Francisco — we build together in person
* The chance to be part of an AI-first product being brought to market at a pivotal moment — as Von succeeds, your career story grows impressively

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
