About Us:

Maxima is the first agentic AI platform for enterprise accounting, purpose built to deliver SOX compliant, real time close. Our founders have experience coming from both sides of the problem: from overseeing the finance org at Rubrik, to building month-end close systems at Twitter and Netflix. We have raised the largest seed in history in the accounting space from Kleiner Perkins & Audacious Ventures and are backed by finance leaders at companies such as Rippling, OpenAI, and UI Path.

Role Overview

As an Account Executive (AE) at Maxima, you will play a key role in driving new business and expanding our reach across enterprise finance organizations. You will be responsible for managing the full sales cycle from prospecting and discovery through negotiation and close. You will work with CFOs, Controllers, and Accounting leaders to show how Maxima can transform their month-end close into a continuous and autonomous process.

This is an opportunity to join a fast-scaling AI company at a pivotal stage of growth. You will collaborate with leadership, Product, and Marketing to refine our sales playbook, influence product and GTM direction through customer feedback, and help shape how Maxima goes to market.

Key Responsibilities
  • Full-Cycle Sales Ownership: Drive end-to-end sales from lead qualification through close, managing multiple high-value opportunities across mid-market and enterprise segments.

  • Prospecting and Pipeline Generation: Partner with BDRs to identify, target, and engage prospective customers through a mix of outbound and inbound channels.

  • Discovery and Solutioning: Understand customer pain points, uncover business needs, and deliver tailored demos and ROI narratives that highlight Maxima’s differentiators.

  • Stakeholder Management: Build strong relationships with finance executives, IT, and operations leaders to navigate complex buying processes.

  • Forecasting and Reporting: Maintain accurate pipeline hygiene, activity tracking, and forecasting in CRM tools.

  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with Product, Marketing, and Customer Success to ensure seamless onboarding and long-term customer success.

  • Market Feedback: Act as the voice of the customer internally, helping refine messaging, product priorities, and enablement content.

Qualifications
  • 3 to 6 years of full-cycle SaaS sales experience, ideally within enterprise or mid-market segments.

  • Proven track record of meeting or exceeding quota in complex or consultative sales environments.

  • Experience selling financial operations, ERP, automation, or AI solutions is a plus.

  • Strong communication and presentation skills with the ability to engage executive-level audiences.

  • Highly organized, self-driven, and comfortable managing multiple deals simultaneously.

  • Familiarity with Salesforce or similar CRM tools.

  • Curiosity about AI, automation, and the future of finance, with the drive to help customers adopt new technology.

Why Join Us
  • Be a core part of a mission-driven startup looking to transform accounting processes.

  • Work with a world-class team of engineers, finance leaders, and investors who are reshaping enterprise accounting.

  • Work in a fast-paced environment where your decisions directly impact product direction and company growth.

  • Competitive salary, equity, and benefits (401k, unlimited PTO)

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
