About Kojo

It's time to build. Whether it's creating more housing, upgrading our infrastructure, or adapting to climate change, one thing is clear: the construction industry is at the center of solving our biggest problems. We’re making buildings cheaper and easier to build by transforming the way commercial construction companies buy their materials. Join us.

Founded in 2018, Kojo is now one of the fastest-growing construction technology companies in the world. Construction accounts for $10 trillion in global spend annually and we can’t live without its output - our roads, schools, hospitals, and offices. Despite this, there’s been very little innovation over the past 70 years in how materials - which constitute up to 40% of project costs - are bought and sold. This is our opportunity.

We’re scaling our Sales organization and hiring a high-impact Account Executive to accelerate Kojo's record-breaking expansion. This is a visible, revenue-critical role reporting directly to Sales Leadership, with meaningful influence on how we win and scale.

About the role

As a Mid-Market Account Executive, you will own the full revenue motion—from market mapping, prospecting and executive outreach to multi-threaded deal strategy and close. You won’t just run deals; you’ll architect them.

You’ll operate at the center of complex buying groups, aligning economic buyers, technical stakeholders, and end users around a compelling business case. Every opportunity requires strategic discovery, sharp qualification, and disciplined execution.

As part of this role, you will be expected to:

  • Drive net-new revenue through rigorous territory and account strategy

  • Lead multi-stakeholder sales cycles with clear deal plans and executive alignment

  • Translate operational pain points into quantified business outcomes

  • Partner cross-functionally with Sales Engineering, Product, and Leadership to win competitive deals

  • Represent Kojo as a trusted advisor and market voice within construction tech

This role is for a builder—someone who combines strategic thinking with operational precision, thrives in fast-moving environments, and wants a seat at the table while we define the next chapter of Kojo’s growth.

About you

The ideal candidate is a strategic, driven, and empathetic seller who thrives in fast-moving environments and is energized by complex, consultative sales. You’re not just chasing quotas—you’re helping solve real-world problems for real people, and you bring curiosity, rigor, and integrity to every deal.

What you've accomplished:

  • 2+ years of success in full cycle SaaS sales, ideally within vertical SaaS or construction tech (ConTech)

  • Proven ability to consistently exceed quota in complex Mid Market deals ($20K to $50K+ ACV)

  • Strong outbound capability; you're comfortable sourcing your own pipeline and thrive in a proactive sales environment

  • Skilled at pre call planning and discovery; you invest time up front to deeply understand how each contractor operates, what makes them tick, and how Kojo can help

  • Experience selling change, not just features; you've influenced tough, traditional buyer groups like field ops, industrial services, or manufacturing

  • Comfortable in a structured and well documented sales process, but you know when to go off script to meet the buyer where they are

  • Resourceful and self directed; you regularly pull in internal partners and content to advance your deals without waiting to be told

  • Clear communicator with the ability to tailor messaging across a range of roles, from project managers to the C suite

  • No ego; coachable, curious, and energized by solving real problems rather than following a rigid sales motion

  • Gritty and driven; you figure things out quickly, adapt fast, and don’t wait for a playbook

What you care about:

  • Growth: You have a growth mindset and see feedback as essential for your success

  • Intentional Communication: You listen with openness and curiosity

  • Passion: You strive for excellence and inspire others to do the same

  • Customer obsession: You care deeply about construction subcontractors and have a high level of curiosity regarding how they operate and how you can help prescribe solutions for them

This role is entirely remote for candidates in the US and Canada, with a preference to hire in EST.

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
