The Account Executive will manage the full sales cycle, engaging new clients, nurturing existing relationships, and promoting Smartcar's API platform while collaborating with senior leadership.

At Smartcar, we’re looking for an ambitious and talented individual who leads with both passion and professionalism. In this role, you'll take ownership of the full sales cycle, from sourcing and engaging leads to closing deals and nurturing long term customer relationships. You’ll work with forward-thinking, tech-savvy clients, and your ability to clearly demonstrate value to both technical and non-technical stakeholders will be key to your success.
You’ll report to our VP of Partnerships, Sarah Larner and work closely with senior leadership to help shape and expand our footprint across the region.
This is a fully remote role. However, you must be located on the East Coast.
Key Responsibilities
- Own the full sales cycle from prospecting to close for Mid Market and Enterprise logos across multiple verticals.
- Develop and manage a portfolio of existing clients to foster strong relationships and understand growth opportunities. This role will be split between New Business and Expansion activities.
- Execute lead generation, sales, pricing, contract negotiations, and other activities essential for revenue growth among new and existing accounts.
- Pitch and demo Smartcar to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Build clear business cases for buyers to highlight the ROI impact for a value-based sale.
- Contribute to strengthening Smartcar’s sales process and sales tactics to fuel the company’s growth.
- Adjust value propositions and share market learnings internally with relevant teams and stakeholders.
- Maintain a strong pipeline and CRM hygiene.
- Adjust pitch decks for vertical-specific use cases.
- Share customer feedback with Customer Success, Product, and Engineering.
- Collaborate with Solution Architects during the sales process to validate, during onboarding, and as part of the ongoing relationship to ensure there's expansion opportunities created.
Who You Are
- 6+ years of experience in a high performing B2B SaaS closing role.
- Familiarity with mobility industry is beneficial, though not mandatory.
- Experience selling technical products or developer tools (i.e. APIs, SDKs).
- Ability to quickly learn, understand, and present technical topics.
- Exemplary writing, speaking, and presentation skills.
- Diligent with researching and understanding each opportunity.
- Team player who is collaborative, thoughtful, resourceful, and coachable.
- Confident with value-based selling methodologies and a challenger mindset.

Compensation and Benefits Package
- Base salary: $95K - $120K
- OTE: $190K-$240K OTE (50/50 split). Uncapped commission.
- Equity.
- Remote work within the United States.
- Health, Dental and Vision covered at 90% for all plans and 80% coverage for dependents, which amounts to approximately $11K a year. It starts on the first of the following month.
- 401K matching at 4% that starts immediately upon joining.
- Unlimited PTO.
- Cell phone and Internet stipend of $50 a month.
- $300 yearly learning and development stipend.
- $350 work-from-home stipend.
- 8 weeks of 100% paid parental leave with an additional 4 weeks unpaid, 1-week half day ramp back time and a 5 week Factor subscription.

- Intro Call: 30 minute phone call with Mathilde Patmon or Sarah Larner to learn about your background and determine whether your skill set matches the role.
- Hiring Manager Call: 45 min phone call with Sarah Larner to learn more about your background and for you to ask as many questions as you would like about the role.
- Take-Home Assignment: You will have 2 days to prepare a discovery call presentation for the current product you sell.
- Take-Home Assignment Review: Once your presentation is complete you will have a 45 min video call with Sarah Larner and Sahas Katta to pitch your product while integrating the discovery process into your presentation.
- Final Stage: This is a 4-part video interview where you will have a a 30 min demo of Smartcar with a member of the engineering team, a 30 minute call to meet 2-3 members of the sales team, a 30 minute behavioral interview with Mathilde Patmon and a 30 minute behavioral interview with Sahas Katta.
