About the Role

We’re seeking an Account Executive to join our sales team. As an Account Executive, you will drive revenue across BrainPOP’s full product suite and own the full life cycle sales process for schools and districts across your territory.  

A successful Account Executive will bring a hunter mentality, be able to analyze and position BrainPOP to state specific initiatives and district curriculum needs, build productive relationships with relevant decision makers, clearly understand grants and funding associated with supplemental purchasing, and communicate the value proposition of BrainPOP as an essential resource for student outcomes aligned with the school/district’s unique needs. You will be curious and dedicated to understanding your regional market. 

Additionally, Account Executives will work in partnership with key GTM team members. They will work in partnership Customer Success Managers to support and facilitate the retention/expansion of existing key accounts as needed during the customer life cycle renewal phase. They will work with the BDR team to maximize outbound prospecting and with GTM Marketing to identify areas of opportunity for Account Based Marketing and Strategic campaigns. 

The Account Executive with cover an assigned territory, and will be comfortable working across multiple time zones. Approximately 20% quarterly travel in territory and occasional travel to the NYC HQ.

In this role, you will
  • Achieve quarterly and annual revenue targets for the assigned geographic region.  
  • Drive activity to pipeline build by executing effective and creative outbound prospecting via a variety of efforts including calling, campaigns, social media, AI, etc
  • Develop and maintain a full business pipeline of prospective clients and assume all key territory management responsibilities. 
  • Maintain accurate, data-driven reporting of the pipeline, account plans, and territory management activities to drive new business growth and territory expansion. 
  • Deliver professional, persuasive sales presentations virtually to demonstrate how the company’s curriculum technology can effectively impact student learning
  • Work with your Customer Success partners to efficiently pinpoint and engage schools and districts to elevate their science, literacy and ELL curriculum by leveraging the powerful educational resources offered by BrainPOP.
  • Stay abreast of trends and developments in education, specifically in your territory
  • Provide valuable feedback to the product and marketing teams based on customer insights and needs, contributing to ongoing improvements.
You Are
  • A self-starter with the ability to drive all phases of the sales process, from lead generation to closing deals to developing client relationships – with proven results surpassing set quotas. 
  • Skilled with both the top-down and bottoms-up sales approach
  • Results oriented; motivated to achieve and exceed quota through disciplined daily efforts
  • A persuasive communicator; comfortable building trust and rapport with relevant audiences
  • Able to negotiate deals that meet both parties' objectives
  • Organized and rigorous in day to day prioritization and delivery on tasks 
  • Able to build depth of understanding of the challenges that school districts and teachers face and demonstrate how BrainPOP’s curriculum technology can provide meaningful solutions
On Your Resume
  • 2+ years of solution-based, strategic experience selling technology or curriculum to schools and small districts with a strong track record of achievement against quota
  • Demonstrated success with prospecting and outbound outreach
  • Demonstrated experience managing a territory and clients through a full sales cycle 
  • Experience delivering virtual persuasive and engaging sales presentations demonstrating curriculum or technologies 
  • Experience managing pipelines in CRM systems like Salesforce; leverage data and reporting for strategic decision making
  • Bachelor's Degree a plus
  • Valid Driver’s License required

The BrainPOP team operates in a hybrid work environment: Each role has remote flexibility and an in-person component at our New York headquarters or other meeting locations. Based on the requirements of a specific role, we may prioritize hiring within a commutable distance of our New York headquarters or in another region relevant to that role.
