About Cartesia

Our mission is to build the next generation of AI: ubiquitous, interactive intelligence that runs wherever you are. Today, not even the best models can continuously process and reason over a year-long stream of audio, video and text—1B text tokens, 10B audio tokens and 1T video tokens—let alone do this on-device.

We're pioneering the model architectures that will make this possible. Our founding team met as PhDs at the Stanford AI Lab, where we invented State Space Models or SSMs, a new primitive for training large-scale foundation models. Our team combines deep expertise in model innovation and systems engineering paired with a design-minded product engineering team to build and ship cutting edge models and experiences.

We're funded by leading investors at Index Ventures and Lightspeed Venture Partners, along with Factory, Conviction, A Star, General Catalyst, SV Angel, Databricks and others. We're fortunate to have the support of many amazing advisors, and 90+ angels across many industries, including the world's foremost experts in AI.

Role

We're seeking an Account Executive to drive our sales efforts and close deals from the ground up. As a key member of our founding GTM team, you'll play a crucial role in executing our sales strategy, with a focus on converting leads from our product-led growth model and closing enterprise deals. This role offers significant opportunity for growth, with the potential to build and lead a team as we expand. In this role, you’ll:

  • Own the full sales cycle, from prospecting to closing deals with both self-serve and enterprise customers

  • Consistently meet or exceed individual quota targets

  • Engage directly with high-value prospects and customers, driving complex sales cycles from start to finish

  • Conduct product demonstrations and create collateral for potential clients

  • Collaborate closely with product, engineering, and marketing teams to refine our value proposition and sales approach

  • Utilize sales tools, CRM systems, and analytics to optimize your sales process and decision making

  • Provide regular insights to the leadership team on market trends, customer feedback, and growth opportunities

  • Develop and refine scalable sales processes and playbooks as we grow

  • Identify and pursue strategic partnerships to expand our market reach

 What we're looking for:

  • 5+ years of exceptional sales experience, with a proven track record of consistently exceeding quota in a high-growth, product-led SaaS, AI, or developer tools company

  • Strong closer mentality with the ability to navigate and accelerate complex sales cycles

  • Technical aptitude with the ability to understand and articulate the value of complex, AI-driven or developer-focused products

  • Experience selling to both individual developers and enterprise decision-makers across various industries

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships at all levels of an organization

  • Data-driven approach to sales, with experience using CRM and analytics tools to optimize performance

  • Entrepreneurial mindset with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, ambiguous environment

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
