The Opportunity

Our Sales org is committed to understanding the needs and challenges of our customers, identifying creative and strategic ways that we can help solve their problems, and selling them our solutions when we can add value.

Account Executives (AE) are responsible for understanding our customers and what drives their success, effectively communicating and demonstrating the value of Buildout solutions, and aligning the right solution to solve for the unique challenges of each customer. As an Account Executive, you will manage the full sales cycle, from prospecting to running product demonstrations, to closing new business and handing off to the appropriate team for the next stage of the customer journey. Reporting to the Director of Sales, you will be joining a team that loves to brainstorm, to collaborate, to ferret down into their prospect’s problems, and a team that loves to win.

How You’ll Contribute at Buildout
  • Drive revenue growth in your territory by leading game-changing discovery calls, delivering impactful product demonstrations, drafting on-the-nose proposals, and winning the hearts, minds (and contracts) of your prospects

  • Be maniacal about your pipeline, building and maintaining a healthy set of opportunities to meet individual sales quota, including monthly and annual ACV goals

  • Accurately forecast sales activity and revenue achievement through proper use of sales tools

  • Become a commercial real estate nerd, understanding its tech industry dynamics, emerging opportunities and competitive trends

  • Be an expert and advocate for Buildout’s product suite, knowing its value to various personas and properly showcasing the right solutions for each customer

  • Be welcomed into the innovative and collaborative Buildout team. Get to know your teammates and work in sync to deliver our number one mission: a world-class, end-to-end customer experience

  • Make mistakes, improve for the next time, and develop enviably thick-skin from these experiences to propel you through the rest of your career, at Buildout and beyond

  • Take the work, but not yourself, seriously

What You’ll Bring to Buildout
  • 1-3+ years of quota-carrying experience with a focus on negotiating and closing business (SaaS experience preferred)

  • A consistent track record of meeting and exceeding sales goals

  • Experience managing a full sales cycle with strong emphasis on the customer journey from prospecting to close and handoff to an implementation team

  • Excellent communication, presentation, and negotiation skills

  • A collaborator, your favorite deals are the ones where you helped a teammate win

  • Constantly improving, someone who loves feedback and proactively finds new ways to get better at their job

  • Insatiably curious, adaptable to change and desire to learn in a fast-paced sales environment

  • A dot-connecter, someone who pieces together the puzzle of a prospect’s world

  • Experience using Salesforce CRM preferred

  • Experience in the Commercial Real Estate industry is a plus

We know there are great candidates who won’t check all of these boxes, and we also know you might bring important skills that we haven’t considered. If that’s you, don’t hesitate to apply and tell us about yourself.

This is a fully remote role open across most of the US. The targeted compensation for this position is $74,000 base salary with OTE of $139,000.

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
