The Account Executive will help the West Coast sponsorship sales team reach and achieve annual revenue goals. Responsibilities include servicing and managing a list of advertising agencies and clients. The Account Executive will help maintain relationships with existing partners while also bringing new partners to baseball. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of, and experience in, both linear and digital media advertising sales.

Responsibilities

  • Sales prospecting, presenting, negotiating, closing and managing of digital, social, network, and corporate partnerships for Major League Baseball
  • Work closely with a national team to maximize multimedia revenue to Baseball
  • Cultivate deep relationships at assigned Agencies at on Client list with the goal of enhancing these relationships, building new clients and opportunities, and producing revenue on a consistent, quarterly basis to meet and exceed revenue goal targets
  • Actively mentoring support staff and overseeing the stewardship of proposals, deals and post-deal analysis
  • Will be responsible for a western region revenue goal.
  • Analyze market trends in preparation for yearly Upfront and Scatter negotiations.
  • Proactively prospect and research accounts to drive new business.
  • Travel as necessary in the western US.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Must have a minimum 2-5 years of media sales experience with proven sales track record.
  • Must have working knowledge of the western US advertising marketplace.
  • Must have experience with national media sales, including national linear and digital sales.
  • Sports Sales Experience a plus
  • Must have strong relationships built with key marketers and influential ad agency personnel.  Preferred relationships in the following categories:  Entertainment/Studios, automotive, gaming, technology, hotel & travel, emerging internet categories.

Pay Rate: $75,000 - $95,000 per year 

As a candidate for this position, your salary and related elements of compensation will be contingent upon your work experience, education, skills and any other factors Major League Baseball (MLB) considers relevant to the hiring decision.
