Own the full-cycle enterprise B2B software sales process, from prospecting and discovery through demos, proposals, negotiations, and closing. Build and maintain a seven-figure pipeline, self-source approximately half of opportunities, manage forecasting in HubSpot, and sell to security, operations, and executive stakeholders. The role requires early-stage go-to-market experience, strong quota performance, AI fluency, and effective collaboration with product and customer success teams.

A Note From the Founder
Citizen has spent ten years building the only live network of what is happening in American cities right now. For most of that time it was a consumer product. It is now also the fastest way for the people responsible for protecting others at scale, stadiums, hospitals, corporate security teams, to see what is unfolding before anyone calls them. We have customers who will tell you that. What we do not yet have is a sales team built to find the next hundred of them. That is this job. You will work directly with our Director of Sales, with the founder closely involved and with a set of agents that do the research so you can spend your day in conversations.
The Role
Citizen is the #1 safety app in the U.S. Every day, thousands of videos are captured live at the scene of real incidents and distributed in real time to people in every major American city. No other consumer product has this. It is a live network, a newsroom, and a safety tool at once, and it is growing again.
Behind the consumer product, we work with hospitals, venue operators, and corporate security teams to give them better visibility, faster response times, and direct access to critical incident data. Our Enterprise offering gives real-time situational awareness to teams responsible for protecting people at scale, from stadiums like MSG to emergency departments to nationwide corporate footprints.
We are adding Account Executives to the enterprise team to build the outbound motion alongside our Director of Sales. This is a new-business, full-cycle role: you find the customer, you run the conversation, you close. No account management; once a customer is live, it moves to the team that serves them.
How We Work
Citizen is building an AI-native company: humans and agents working together. For this role that is concrete. Agents build the account lists, enrich the contacts, draft the first touch, and prep the call. You spend your time where it counts: on the phone, in the room, and in the follow-up that moves a deal. You should already be using tools like this and have a clear view of where they help and where they get in the way.
What You Will Own

  • The full new-business cycle: target list, first touch, discovery, demo, proposal, negotiation, close.

  • A pipeline you build and keep at seven figures, roughly half self-sourced through prospecting and events, half from inbound and partner leads, using Apollo, Sales Navigator and HubSpot.

  • The conversation with security directors, operations leads and executives: what they are protecting, what they see today, and what Citizen adds.

  • Pipeline hygiene and a forecast in HubSpot that holds up: stages, next steps, close dates, no surprises.

  • The feedback loop to product and customer success: what buyers ask for, what blocks deals, and what should shape the roadmap.

  • Your own tooling. You use agents to build lists, enrich contacts and prep calls, and you make them better as you go.

Your First 60 Days

  • Days 1 to 30: learn the product, the customers we have and why they bought. Sit in on live deals. Build your target list with the agents and send your first touches.

  • Days 31 to 60: your pipeline is live and you are measured on the qualified opportunities (SQOs) you created. Ramp is MBO-based against that number.

  • Day 61 on: fully ramped, on quota, running full cycles on your own accounts.

Who You Are

  • A prospector who generates and works their own leads.

  • A system builder: lightweight, repeatable processes rather than heroics.

  • A value seller who ties the product back to customer pain and urgency.

  • Customer-obsessed: you relay feedback and close loops with urgency.

  • You have sold multi-stakeholder enterprise software, ideally early-stage, with limited playbook or brand recognition.

  • You bring structured thinking, strong writing, and concise storytelling to every client interaction.

  • You have a bias for action and a hunger to win, without cutting corners.

  • You care about the mission and want your work to matter.

  • You are a mature professional with strong executive functioning.

  • If you have started something that did not work, say so. We count it as a plus.

Requirements

  • 3 to 5 years of quota-carrying, full-cycle B2B software sales.

  • Finished at or above quota in your last two full years, and can show the pipeline you built to get there.

  • Self-sourced about half of your own pipeline through prospecting and events.

  • Generated and maintained a seven-figure pipeline.

  • Comfortable self-sourcing by email and phone; a hunter, not a farmer.

  • Demonstrated success in an early go-to-market motion with no established playbook.

  • AI fluency beyond chat. You have built something that runs without you: an agentic workflow, a dashboard, a scheduled automation. Personal projects count.

  • Plus, not required: prior SDR experience; security or physical-security vertical experience.

  • Fluent in HubSpot, Sales Navigator, data enrichment tools and dialers.

Compensation
On-target earnings of $170,000, plus equity.

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
