About Dakota

Dakota is a stablecoin infrastructure platform powering modern financial products through regulated money movement, stablecoin orchestration, and cross-border settlement. We serve institutional clients — fintechs, payment service providers, marketplaces, and enterprises — through an API-first platform that abstracts the complexity of custody, compliance, settlement, and banking partnerships.

We are a remote first team across North America and Europe. We value high quality work, clear thinking and ownership.

The Role

As an Account Executive at Dakota, you'll own the full sales cycle for our stablecoin infrastructure platform, from prospecting to close. You'll work with crypto-native companies and traditional fintechs changing how they move and store money, helping them understand where Dakota fits and guiding technical and business stakeholders to a decision.

This is a fast-paced sales motion that requires technical chops. Our buyers are engineers and product leaders, and the best AEs here can speak their language, map real pain to our platform, and build trust deal after deal. You'll be an early, high-impact member of the sales team with room to shape how we sell.

What you’ll do
  • Own the full sales process end to end: prospecting, discovery, negotiation, closing, and expansion.

  • Clearly articulate how Dakota's platform solves each potential client’s needs.

  • Reach out to new leads via various communication channels and get them excited for an introductory call.

  • Track, analyze, and find ways to improve campaigns and the sales process.

  • Develop long-term, trusted relationships with leaders from teams of all sizes.

  • Build and execute territory and account plans, and maintain enough pipeline to consistently hit quota.

  • Collaborate cross-functionally with marketing, engineering, and compliance to deliver client outcomes.

  • Own, manage, and report on activities, pipeline, and forecasting in the CRM.

  • Represent Dakota with professionalism, urgency, and responsiveness at every touchpoint.

What we're looking for
  • 3–5 years of quota-carrying experience in an Account Executive role, ideally selling API products (payments, infrastructure, banking) to businesses and technical buyers.

  • A proven track record of sourcing, developing, and closing new business in a net-new hunting role.

  • Comfort selling to engineers, product owners, and executive leadership, and translating pain points into value.

  • Self-starter who thrives in a fast-paced startup and can execute autonomously.

  • Proficiency with AI-enabled sales tooling.

  • Excellent communication skills: listening, verbal, and written.

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and opportunities concurrently.

How We Work

At Dakota, we value people who:

  • Strive for excellence

  • Practice extreme ownership.

  • Experiment fearlessly and learn quickly.

  • Stay close to customers.

  • Communicate clearly and directly.

What We Offer
  • Engaging problems that increase economic freedom globally

  • Competitive salary and equity

  • Employee-friendly equity terms (extended exercise)

  • Remote work, no commuting to the office

  • Paid co-working space/desk at an office

  • Health, dental, and vision insurance

  • Regular team events and off-sites

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
