We are looking for an Account Executive (AE) to join our growing team to help us realize this vision and drive our industry forward. A great AE for the Edelman Technology team is someone with relevant, hands-on experience in the technology sector, an understanding of a variety of media audiences and social platforms, and an appetite to ideate and support the kinds of integrated communications marketing campaigns that showcase the true innovation power of leading global brands.
You will be an integral part of a global team supporting one of Edelman’s largest and longest-running clients. We’re looking for someone with a passion for consumer technology and current events to support out-of-the-box thinking in the era of rapid tech acceleration. About You:
You have 1-2 years of relevant experience in communications and have a strong knowledge base of all things PR and the ever-changing technology landscape. You’re a practiced trend spotter, an avid news consumer, and a creative brainstormer who isn’t afraid to share ideas and opinions. You’re an energetic team player with a desire to work across disciplines to drive projects forward. The ideal candidate will have excellent writing skills, a proficient understanding of communications planning, and be a growing expert in navigating the media landscape with an eye toward social platforms and emerging new media channels.
As an AE, your work will be critical in day-to-day operations like coverage monitoring and reporting, product messaging development, and helping bring game-changing strategies to life.
Responsibilities:
- Contribute to the creation of communications plans and launch strategies, including events.
- Provide oversight and support to interns and Assistant Account Executives on the team.
- Provide client service, attend meetings, handle scheduling logistics, and draft agendas and recaps.
- Research, compile, and analyze the media landscape, keeping a pulse on the right influencers and outlets to advance the reputation of our clients.
- Draft and proofread materials such as media alerts, coverage reports, press releases, product and executive messaging, pitches and more.
- Participate in new business processes including research, audits, and proposal development.
- Demonstrate proficient knowledge of storytelling and media and social media analytical tools.
- Support weekly, monthly, and quarterly reporting for clients.
- Commit to continuous learning through internal and external training opportunities.
Basic Qualifications:
- At least 1 year of relevant experience in public relations and/or related fields including research, advertising, management consulting, media, and publishing.
- A Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience
Preferred Qualifications:
- Understanding of the role of communications and PR agencies.
- Excellent writing skills with the ability to adapt to an array of audiences including B2B, media, and internal stakeholders.
- Understanding of media relations and how to compile and showcase media results. Having relationships with tech YouTubers and tech, business, and lifestyle media is a plus.
- Understanding of and interest in the current technology industry landscape, with a desire to stay up to date with emerging technologies.
- Keen interest and high awareness of current events and pop culture.
- Experience in the research, planning, and development of communications campaigns.
- Proven experience ensuring work quality and deadline adherence.
- Willingness to travel (within the US and internationally).
