Hey! We're team Granola 👋 If you haven't already, you should check out what we're building, and why you should work here.

We’re looking for an Account Executive to join us as one of our first hires in San Francisco, as we expand the Granola team beyond London.

Even though we’ve been building Granola in London, many customers are based in the US, and so we’re excited to be opening our SF office as the new epicentre of our GTM efforts across North America.

About the role

As our first SF based Account Executive, you’ll join our growing sales team and help us continue to establish our sales function from the ground up, playing a vital role in scaling and defining our go-to-market approach, whilst making an immediate contribution to our rapidly increasing revenue number.

As an integral and early member of our sales team, you’ll be pivotal in scaling Granola to our next 100x growth milestone.

At Granola, we’re a product-led company with a strong base of users who discover and adopt the product organically. As Account Executive, you’ll close deals within organizations where Granola is already loved, converting engagement into revenue growth.

You’ll be at the forefront of our growth, interacting directly with customers to understand their needs, buying process and stakeholders, and ultimately winning enterprise plan deals.

In this role, you will:
  • Engage with our highest potential prospects

  • Own the entire sales cycle from discovery to closed deal

  • Navigate security reviews, procurement processes, legal reviews, and vendor management systems

  • Help build and optimise our sales playbook and process as we learn what works

  • Conduct warm outreach to convert our highest-usage free customers to paid accounts

  • Work closely with our London-based team to meet our customers’ needs

  • Play a pivotal role in establishing Granola’s SF office and team

Your background looks something like:
  • Experience selling SaaS products in product-led growth companies (minimum 7+ years)

  • Experience successfully managing complex sales cycles, including engaging with security, legal and procurement teams

  • A track record of consistently achieving / exceeding revenue targets

  • Highly autonomous and able to prioritise well

  • Enthusiasm for building something new rather than following an established playbook

  • Preference for working collaboratively with colleagues, rather than operating alone

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills that build trust quickly

  • Comfort with high velocity and long cycle sales processes

  • Exposure to formal sales training / methodologies

As a person, you…
  • are a builder who gets excited about creating something from scratch, rather than working to established playbooks & processes

  • are excited by the energy of working in-person from our office in San Francisco (we’re five days per week, in person, and we love it)

  • thrive in a startup environment where you can use your creativity and initiative to define how you approach your role and outcomes

  • have a genuine curiosity about how customers use our product and what would make them pay (and pay more!)

  • take ownership of challenges without waiting for perfect information or direction

  • value working with people who are kind, ambitious and pragmatic

About the Opportunity

We are living in the most exciting time for tool builders since Engelbart's demo in 1968 and we want to assemble the best crew to build this future together, in London and SF.

Our compensation philosophy is to hire the best people in the market and pay them accordingly with salary, variable, and equity.

Location

We are excited to work in-person from our office in San Francisco (most of the time). We are happy to offer relocation assistance to candidates who’ll be moving to SF to join us.

Lastly, we think amazing talent comes from all kinds of life journeys and experiences. If what is written above speaks to you, whether you look like a fit on paper or not, please reach out.

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
