Mainshares is on a mission to ensure the future of America's small business economy by backing the next generation of operators. As part of our entrepreneurship through acquisition process, we are currently hiring for a well-established and growing Software as a Service (SaaS) company. We are looking for a mid-level Account Executive with an entrepreneurial spirit and a passion for technology.

This is a remote position that operates within the Central Time Zone, and we have a strong preference for candidates based in the Midwest to align with our company culture and customer base.

About the Company

Founded in 1995, this company has a long history of developing innovative software solutions for a diverse range of industries, including insurance, healthcare, and government. They provide robust, subscription-based SaaS platforms to state governments, city governments, and a variety of private companies and not-for-profits. Their commitment to its customers is evident in their rapid-response in-house tech support and flexibility to customize systems to meet their evolving needs.

The Role

As a mid-level Account Executive, you will be responsible for driving new business growth by identifying and engaging with potential clients. You will manage the entire sales cycle, from initial contact to closing the deal, and build lasting relationships based on trust and a deep understanding of our customers' needs. Your entrepreneurial mindset will be key to your success as you will have the autonomy to develop and execute your sales strategy.

Responsibilities
  • Generate new business opportunities through prospecting and networking within the insurance software market and other relevant industries.

  • Manage the full sales cycle, including lead qualification, product demonstrations, proposal creation, negotiation, and closing.

  • Develop and maintain a strong sales pipeline to achieve and exceed sales targets.

  • Serve as a product expert, clearly communicating the value and benefits of our SaaS platforms to prospective clients.

  • Build and nurture relationships with key decision-makers and stakeholders.

  • Collaborate with our in-house development and support teams to ensure client needs are met and to provide valuable market feedback.

Qualifications
  • Proven experience as an Account Executive, with a track record of meeting or exceeding sales quotas.

  • Experience in the insurance software market or related fields is highly preferred.

  • A strong entrepreneurial spirit and the ability to work independently in a remote setting.

  • Excellent communication, presentation, and negotiation skills.

  • Self-motivated and results-oriented with a passion for problem-solving.

  • Comfortable with CRM software and sales tools.

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.

Why Join Us?

This is an opportunity to join a stable, long-term company with a reputation for quality and innovation. We offer a competitive salary and commission structure, a supportive remote work environment, and the chance to make a significant impact on our company's growth.

If you are a driven Account Executive with a passion for the software industry and a desire to take ownership of your success, we encourage you to apply.

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
