OVERVIEW:

 Reporting to the Manager, Group Sales and Lead Generation, this position focuses on the sale of health benefit plans for small to midsized employer groups. The Account Executive is responsible for acquiring new group business through incoming sales leads in the Calgary/Edmonton and surrounding area as well as servicing and retaining exiting groups.

WHAT YOU WILL DO:

  • Manage incoming sales leads from companies with 2-10 employees on a direct to company basis.

  • Proactively identify, pursue, and close new business opportunities through strategic outreach.

  • Complete and present sales quotations.

  • Meet or exceed a quarterly sales quota.

  • Collaborate with all sales and service staff to ensure sales objectives are met.

  • Manage renewals with a focus on retaining existing business.

  • Attend sales conferences and sales related functions as required.

WHAT YOU WILL HAVE:

  • Preference will be given to those employees with previous health insurance policies and procedures experience.

  • Full Life and Accident & Sickness insurance licensing (LLQP) will be mandatory prior to commencement of the position and training will be provided.

  • Must possess a strong aptitude for sales and a desire to learn all aspects of our business.

  • Must be self-motivated and maintain a positive attitude.

  • Must be comfortable making sales and follow up calls over the phone and in person.

  • Must be able to work independently and deal effectively with the public, peers, superiors and co-workers.

  • Must possess strong interpersonal skills, along with excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Strong analytical ability, with a commitment to accuracy and timeliness.
