About the Role
We are seeking a driven Account Executive to accelerate adoption of distributed energy, helping CRE partners get power at sites by maximizing available grid capacity. This consultative sales role will focus on identifying ideal site profiles utilizing Critical Loop’s power analysis, manage outbound strategy, and drive growth across existing portfolios. Over the first 90-days success will be measured via Management by Objectives (MBOs) and then transition into a mix of competitive base and uncapped commissions. The ideal candidate has expertise in grid-connected assets, facility energy sales, power control systems, technical sales cycles, and has proven the ability to perform in a dynamic, mission-driven startup environment. This is a quota carrying role focused on converting new customers and growing Critical Loop’s existing customer base.
Responsibilities:
Identify and pursue opportunities in the CRE vertical across REITs, brokers, developers, owners, and tenants
Perform technical site assessments (remote and on-site), including load profiles, power sizing, and solution scoping
Educate CRE stakeholders on energy savings, value-add to leases, and resiliency benefits
Build relationships with key partners in your service territory to generate inbound opportunities and accelerate market penetration
Partner with utilities, developers, and EPCs to navigate interconnection, permitting, and project timelines
Collaborate closely with Critical Loop’s engineering and operations teams to ensure seamless project launches
Own outbound sales strategy and execution in your defined territory and vertical
Represent Critical Loop at industry events, conferences, and meetings to drive long-term partnerships
Maintain disciplined CRM hygiene and forecasting to provide leadership with pipeline visibility
Requirements:
5+ years of quota-carrying sales experience in technical energy solutions (BESS, microgrids, on-site generation, demand response, or related)
Strong technical knowledge of power sizing, microgrid setups (e.g., gensets, BESS), and utility interconnection processes
Proven ability to manage complex, multi-stakeholder sales cycles with both technical and financial decision-makers
Comfort operating in a high-growth startup where playbooks are still being written
Preferred Requirements:
Experience selling into the Commercial Real Estate ecosystem (REITs, developers, owners, brokers)
Existing network within CRE or distributed energy solutions industry
Background in consultative solution sales, tying technical benefits to financial and operational outcomes
Experience with Google Workspace and SalesForce
Ability to travel up to 25%
