As an Account Executive, you will expand PlayVS's reach in K-12 by selling curriculum offerings, managing a sales pipeline, and delivering presentations to educators.
Founded in 2018, PlayVS was created to make esports accessible to everyone, no matter their skill level. We power amateur competitive gaming by providing the infrastructure behind it all, including the most popular titles, real-time stats, coaching tools, and on-demand support. Simply put, we make esports easy. Our mission is to create transformative opportunities for personal growth and skill development through gaming.
As an Account Executive at PlayVS, you will play a pivotal role in expanding our reach within K–12 schools by selling our curriculum offering while also packaging our free competition product. You’ll partner with Schools and Districts to introduce esports into the classroom and broader student experience. This role is ideal for a strategic, mission-driven salesperson who understands the education space and knows how to craft value-driven narratives that convert.
Here's What You'll Get To Do:
- Build and manage a robust pipeline of prospective K–12 schools through proactive outreach, follow-ups, and targeted campaigns.
- Own the full sales cycle for the Gaming Concepts curriculum, from prospecting to close, in partnership with a Sales Development Representative and Customer Success Manager.
- Increase participation and engagement in PlayVS competitions by showcasing the benefits of our free esports platform.
- Deliver engaging virtual presentations and product demonstrations to educators, administrators, and district leaders.
- Consistently meet or exceed individual revenue targets tied to curriculum sales.
- Maintain accurate sales activity, forecasting, and pipeline management within Salesforce.
- Collaborate closely with Customer Success to ensure smooth onboarding and post-sale satisfaction.
- Partner with Sales Development, Marketing, Customer Experience, Partnerships, and Product teams to refine messaging and improve go-to-market strategies.
- Serve as the voice of educators, sharing insights and feedback to help shape product and service improvements.
Here's What We're Looking For:
- 2+ years of full-cycle sales experience, ideally in education, edtech, SaaS, or a mission-driven organization.
- Experience selling curriculum, instructional tools, or other educational programs.
- Familiarity with K–12 funding cycles, decision-making processes, or procurement systems.
- Proven ability to build and manage a strong sales pipeline while consistently meeting or exceeding revenue goals.
- Exceptional communication and presentation skills, both written and verbal.
- Experience selling to schools, districts, or educational institutions.
- Comfort with CRM systems (Salesforce experience preferred).
- Self-motivated, organized, and adaptable in a fast-paced, remote environment.
- Passion for education, gaming, or the intersection of both.
Not Required, But Bonus Points For:
- Background or passion for esports, gaming, or coaching programs.
