Why We're Hiring
 
At Complex, we're looking for an experienced and motivated Brand Partner with a media background to join our team. This is a high-energy job that requires persistent interaction with clients, proven sales skills, and the ability to work collaboratively with internal teams.
 
The Director, Brand Partnerships is responsible for driving strategic advertising and sponsorship revenue by developing innovative, multi-platform marketing partnerships for Fortune 500 brands. This role combines consultative selling, executive relationship management, and creative solution development across Complex's portfolio of content, social, experiential, commerce, and branded entertainment properties.
 
The ideal candidate is a proactive seller with deep agency and client relationships, a proven history of exceeding revenue goals, and experience creating integrated partnerships that deliver measurable business results.

What You'll Do

    Revenue Generation

  • Own and exceed quarterly and annual revenue targets.

  • Develop strategic account plans that identify new business opportunities and expand existing partnerships.

  • Build a healthy sales pipeline across targeted categories including:

  • Technology

  • Telecommunications

  • Tech Apps / Fintech

  • Prospect and secure new advertiser relationships through direct client outreach and agency partnerships.

  • Negotiate complex partnership agreements from proposal through execution.

  • Strategic Partnerships

  • Develop custom integrated marketing programs leveraging:

  • Talent & Influencer Programs

  • Collaborate with internal strategy teams to create compelling presentations and proactive ideas.

  • Serve as a trusted strategic advisor to senior marketing decision makers.

  • Build relationships with CMOs, Brand Directors, Marketing Leads, and agency executives.

  • Lead client meetings, presentations, negotiations, and annual business reviews.

  • Maintain a high level of customer satisfaction and long-term partnership growth.

  • Market Intelligence

  • Stay informed on emerging consumer trends, media innovation, creator economy developments, and competitive landscape.

  • Identify white space opportunities within key verticals.

  • Share marketplace insights that help shape sales strategy.

Who You Are

  • 7–10+ years of media sales or integrated marketing experience.
  • Proven track record of consistently exceeding annual revenue goals.
  • Strong agency and direct client relationships.
  • Experience selling integrated media programs that include digital, social, experiential, branded content, and sponsorships.
  • Excellent presentation, negotiation, and communication skills.
  • Strong strategic thinking and consultative selling abilities.
  • Experience working with CRM platforms such as Boostr.
  • Ability to manage multiple complex sales cycles simultaneously.
  • Passion for youth culture, entertainment, sports, music, fashion, gaming, and emerging consumer trends.
