About the role

As an Accessibility Specialist, you will support the execution and delivery of closed captioning (CC/SDH) and audio description (AD) assets for Crunchyroll’s global releases. Embedded within the International Dubbing team, you will coordinate accessibility workflows across vendors and internal stakeholders to ensure assets are delivered accurately, on time, and in compliance with established standards.

This role is execution-focused and operational in scope, requiring strong attention to detail, vendor coordination experience, and familiarity with localization and dubbing workflows. You will operate independently within defined processes while escalating complex issues to leadership as needed.

Core Areas of Responsibility Accessibility Workflow Coordination
  • Coordinate end-to-end accessibility asset movement for assigned titles, including closed captioning (CC/SDH) and audio description (AD).
  • Track deliverables across vendors, titles, and regions, maintaining accurate status reporting and milestone tracking.
  • Monitor timelines and proactively flag risks or delays to leadership.
Vendor & Cross-Functional Support
  • Serve as the day-to-day point of contact for accessibility vendors for inquiries, clarifications, approvals, and issue resolution.
  • Partner with Brand Management, Programming, Localization, Content Operations, and Materials teams to ensure asset readiness and alignment.
  • Escalate unresolved quality or timing concerns to the International Dubbing Localization Manager as appropriate.
Quality & Compliance Support
  • Conduct quality control checks on key names, terminology, formatting, and timing to ensure compliance with Crunchyroll accessibility specifications and style guides.
  • Support maintenance of Key Names & Phrases (KNP) and terminology tracking in partnership with translation teams.
  • Ensure deliverables meet established regional regulatory requirements and platform standards.
Systems & Tools Management
  • Create and manage Jira tickets related to accessibility blockers, missing materials, and caption/AD issues.
  • Generate and manage Polaris orders for accessibility work, ensuring accurate scoping and alignment with timelines.
  • Coordinate materials delivery via approved systems (e.g., Aspera) and confirm successful vendor receipt.
  • Upload and publish accessibility assets in Crunchyroll’s CMS to support on-time launches.
Process Adherence & Optimization
  • Follow established accessibility workflows and documentation standards.
  • Provide feedback on workflow efficiencies and support management-led continuous improvement initiatives.
About You
  • 2+ years of experience in localization, post-production operations, or accessibility coordination.
  • Hands-on experience managing closed captioning (CC/SDH) and/or audio description (AD) workflows.
  • Experience working within the entertainment or streaming industry; animated content experience preferred.
  • Strong project coordination skills with the ability to manage multiple titles simultaneously.
  • Working knowledge of production tracking tools (e.g., Jira), asset management systems, and CMS platforms.
  • High attention to detail and comfort operating within structured workflows.
  • Commitment to accessibility and inclusive content delivery.

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
