We have a new role as part of the A&G product sales team and will work in tandem with the Academic Sales team in the Northeast US market selling resources in the Research & Analytics portfolio.

As a Product Sales Manager, you will have the opportunity to drive new business sales growth and meet product sales goals for Web of Science, InCites, Pivot-RP, and more into the Academic & Government market (A&G).  You will be selling specifically to universities to leverage research and analytics solutions and content to support education, research and assessment initiatives.  Your sales growth and yearly quota will be achieved through cross selling new products & services to existing Academic customers as well as, and with some new logo acquisition. The role will report to the Director for Research & Analytics Sales in the Americas and will involve collaboration with Academic Field Sales Account Managers and other commercial stakeholders to implement and execute on product sales strategies. 

As a Product Sales Manager, you will build a robust pipeline with a clear focus on increasing deal sizes.  You will get the opportunity to implement and execute on sales to drive maximum cross-selling growth.  You will pro-actively acquire and develop relevant market, industry, and product knowledge skills to support commercial success.  

About you – experience, education, skills, and accomplishments

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent, relevant work experience
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in research platform solutions, API’s or other integration, custom data sets, reports, or a combination of these alongside consultancy services to Academic clients.
  • Prior selling experience and in-depth domain knowledge of the US Academic Market

  • Prior experience of with academic bids and tenders is a big plus
  • Proven track record of business development
    • Developing accounts through proactive prospecting
    • Deep discovery to understand customer workflow and content needs
    • Adept and cultivating strong customer relationships with senior stakeholders
    • Consistent achievement of commercial targets in a complex sales environment

What will you be doing in this role?

  • Manage and grow revenue and market share at designated accounts to maximize customer satisfaction and achieve company’s strategic objectives.
  • Develop and maintain client relationships to ultimately drive revenue growth.
  • Develop and execute account strategy by collaborating with account team to deliver stronger, more relevant value propositions.

About the Team

This team is designed to pursue a specific market. Specializing in research intelligence products assisting academic customers.  Reporting to the Regional Sales Manager for Academic Markets; part of a 7-member team.  

Hours of Work

This is a full-time position, primarily working core business hours in your time zone, with flexibility to adjust to various global time zones as needed.  

This is a remote position with travel up to 50%.  High travel January – May and then again Mid-September through November.
