VERSES is a cognitive computing company building next-generation intelligent software systems modeled after the Wisdom and Genius of Nature. We are a distributed, diverse, and inclusive workforce that aspires to do our best work on important problems with exceptional people.
We’re looking for trailblazers and problem solvers passionate about tackling important global-scale challenges so if that sounds appealing, let’s imagine a smarter world together
🚀Join Our Adventure!
At VERSES, we're shaping the future of computing with our natural computing platform, Genius. We’re looking for a Sr. 3D Visualization Engineer with deep experience in Babylon.js and 3D rendering pipelines to join our team. You’ll help translate HSML (Hyperspace Modeling Language) data into dynamic UDG (Universal Domain Graph) visualizations for the Spatial Browser, creating intuitive, semantic-based 3D environments for developers, enterprises, and end-users.
✍️Role and Responsibilities
As a 3D Visualization Engineer you will:
- Design and implement rendering pipelines that translate HSML/UDG data into interactive 3D visualizations using BabylonJS.
- Prototype and build visual encodings of ontologies and domain relationships for the Spatial Browser
- Collaborate with standards architects to ensure HSML schemas and UDG data structures render consistently and inter-operably.
- Optimize 3D performance for scalability across devices (desktop, mobile, XR).
- Develop visual affordances for agents, devices, and domains that enhance user interaction and understanding
- Create documentation and implementation guides for visualization standards.
- Work closely with the Spatial Web SDK team to ensure seamless integration into developer workflows.
- Participate in design studies, testing, and evaluation with partners (e.g., smart city, IoT, aerospace).
- Support open-source reference implementations to accelerate community adoption.
Requirements
Education & Experience
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Graphics/Visualization, or related field (or equivalent experience).
- 5+ years of experience in 3D software engineering with a focus on visualization, rendering, or game engines
Technical & Domain Knowledge
- Deep expertise in Babylon.js (or similar frameworks like Three.js, Unity WebGL, Unreal) for large-scale, real-time visualization
- Proficiency in JavaScript/TypeScript, WebGL, GLSL shaders, and 3D scene optimization.
- Experience translating graph/ontology data into visual models (e.g., RDF, JSON-LD, GraphQL, or knowledge graphs).
- Understanding of semantic web tools (RDF, OWL, SPARQL, schema.org).
- Demonstrated ability to architect and optimize rendering pipelines for interactive systems.
- Familiarity with IoT, Digital Twins, and Spatial Computing concepts.
- XR/VR/AR development experience with WebXR or Babylon XR toolkit.
- Unity, Unreal and Omniverse experience
Communication and Soft Skills
- Excellent problem-solving and communication skills, with the ability to work in cross-disciplinary teams
Bonus if you have:
- Knowledge of IEEE / W3C standards / Open Metaverse for web and spatial computing.
- Experience with AI-driven visualization (e.g., LLM integration, agent-based interfaces).
- Visualization of smart city, digital twin, or IoT data in 3D.
- Contributions to open-source visualization libraries or standards bodies.
- Experience with robotics simulations and ROS
