Summary

Apple's Human Interface VFX team designs product experiences, from early ideation all the way through to the shipping product. To ensure high-quality results, we work closely with other HI design teams, software teams, graphics engineers and product marketing.

Key Qualifications

10+ years experience working with techniques and technologies for CG rendering and look development in feature film, VFX, and/or games

Extensive knowledge of and experience creating photorealistic assets to include digital environments and humans - including look development of body, face, cloth, and hair

Excellent ability to discern and manipulate light, shade, color, and intricate details to create physically-based photorealistic imagery

Expertise crafting advanced shading networks in Maya or Houdini

Solid understanding working with V-Ray, Arnold, Karma or other ray trace renderers

Highly proficient collaborating with texture artists working in Photoshop, Mari, Substance 3D painter, and ZBrush.

Ability to scale work from large data sets to real-time mobile assets while maintaining quality

Excellent communication and collaboration skills

Self managed, self motivated, and able to learn new pipeline and procedures

Description

We are looking for a world-class look development artist to help us achieve the highest levels of photorealism in our designs. You will leverage your experience in look development to create shaders and materials for photorealistic digital content. The ideal candidate will flourish in a fast-paced environment while continuing to push the boundaries of what is achievable with next-generation technology.

Education & Experience

BA/BFA in Digital Media/Visual Effects/Animation or equivalent industry experience

Additional Requirements

  • Familiarity with photogrammetry
  • Python scripting is beneficial
  • Experience working with external art teams and outsource partners
  • Strong leadership and mentoring abilities and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to find creative solutions for technically challenging tasks
