- You're a motivated rising senior student with a 3.0 GPA or higher seeking a degree in one of the following areas listed below from an accredited college or university:
- Business Technology Management
- Computer Information Systems
- Computer Science
- Electrical and Computer Engineering
- This is a full-time, 10-week program designed to give you real-world experience working within the telecommunications industry in your field of choice.
- Internship program runs from May 27 through July 31, 2026.
- In addition to the role-based projects you'll work on, you'll also participate in professional development sessions, networking opportunities, and have access to a mentor.

What you can expect in this role
As a Spectrum intern, you'll spend the summer working alongside two teams - your respective department and your intern peer group. Department and team-focused projects account for about 80% of your schedule. You'll spend the other 20% on professional development sessions and networking activities, including the Kickoff Conference on May 27th, webinars, community service, cross-functional projects, and final presentations.
Internship responsibilities may include
- Planning the Spectrum Business networks; including but not limited to, capacity monitoring, creating high level designs, network initiatives, and identifying resource needs.
Required qualifications
- Must be currently enrolled in an accredited College or University graduating with a bachelor's degree between December 2026 - May 2027
- Must have at least a 3.0 GPA or greater in current program
- Ability to travel locally to Spectrum intern development events and activities throughout the program
- Authorization to work in the U.S. without restrictions or need for future sponsorship
Preferred qualifications
- Ability to understand complex technical documentation, processes, and problem resolution.
- Ability to perform duties in a very fast pace environment and ability to learn new technology quickly.
- Ability to read, write, and speak the English language.
- Ability to work in a team environment.
- Entry-level understanding of centralized network EMS and network analysis tools
- Entry-level understanding of network tools such as traceroute and ping to document existing network architectures.
- Entry-level understanding of layer 2 technologies including SONET TDM and Ethernet Switching (examples: VLAN and Spanning Tree).
- Entry-level understanding of IP routing concepts and IP routing protocol implementation (BGP, OSPF, ISIS).
- Entry-level understanding of MPLS design and implementation fundamentals.
- Entry-level understanding of fiber optic transmission properties in a WDM environment.
- Entry-level understanding of creating and manipulating reports within Excel or other similar software.
- Entry-level experience with ticketing and software tools to support the current operations.
- Entry-level knowledge of network designing software, such as Microsoft Visio.
- Entry-level knowledge of Microsoft Office.
