We're seeking a Design Strategy intern who is passionate about improving the world through design and making technology accessible to more people. You will work with multidisciplinary product teams and leadership to identify opportunities, develop scalable and repeatable product strategy and design frameworks and solutions, and streamline strategic alignment to inform and improve design-decision-making across the Product Design organization.

Responsibilities: 

  • Conduct & utilize research, data analysis, and strategic company goals to uncover and prioritize opportunity areas for the design strategy team and broader business 
  • Identify and execute against horizontal, design-driven opportunities to inform the future of product and ecosystem experiences through design-forward exploration and evaluation
  • Lead the collaborative co-creation of cross-functional mission & vision-driven initiatives to develop forward-looking design and product strategies alongside repeatable guidelines and frameworks for scalable strategic execution across the broader Product Design team
  • Develop and experiment with methods to scale strategic design impact across the Product User Experience design team and broader organization 
  • Serve as a thought partner and facilitator for product and design leadership

What we are looking for in you: 

  • Enrolled in a Bachelors or Masters Degree program in Design Strategy, Human Computer Interaction, Service Design, User Experience, Cognitive Psychology, and/or related design fields, with a projected graduation date of Fall 2026 to Spring 2027 
  • Experience facilitating and utilizing a diverse set of research methodologies and data inputs to develop a clear and cohesive narrative that can drive impact
  • Adept at synthesizing complex, interdependent research and data into clear insights for technical products 
  • Familiarity with design and design collaboration tools (Figma, Mural, etc.)
  • Comfortable making decisive, pragmatic design decisions involving difficult tradeoffs and defending decision-making to senior leadership
  • Expert in a relevant design craft (product design, service design, user research, visual design)
  • Experience in working across teams and collaborating with diverse stakeholders with competing priorities and perspectives 
  • Have a portfolio of work or projects that includes case studies of design and/or user research projects that highlight your process and role on the project
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States. Company sponsorship may be available for eligible candidates applying for certain roles

MongoDB internships are full-time (40 hours/week) for 10 consecutive weeks lasting from dates in June until August. All interns are considered hybrid employees, designated the "in office" working model and are expected to be in their office location 3-5 days a week.

MongoDB’s base salary range for this role is posted below. Compensation at the time of offer is unique to each candidate and based on a variety of factors such as skill set, experience, qualifications, and work location. Salary is one part of MongoDB’s total compensation and benefits package. Other benefits for eligible employees may include: equity, participation in the employee stock purchase program, flexible paid time off, 20 weeks fully-paid gender-neutral parental leave, fertility and adoption assistance, 401(k) plan, mental health counseling, access to transgender-inclusive health insurance coverage, and health benefits offerings. Please note, the base salary range listed below and the benefits in this paragraph are only applicable to U.S.-based candidates.

$79,872$114,400 USD
