Your Responsibilities
As a Digital Design Engineer, ASIC for John Deere in Torrance, CA, you will:
  • Produce and/or evaluate possible design solutions to improve cost, quality and performance based on specialized knowledge of engineering applications, this may include possible involvement of other functional engineers, supply management and/or supplier personnel;
  • Compile and furnish necessary information (engineering decisions and reports of pertinent design analyses data) to document the design solution required for building of prototypes and adoption of the design with possible involvement of other functional engineers, supply management and/or supplier personnel;
  • Develop and/or execute test or analysis plan for product verification and validation;
  • Provide technical support to marketing, manufacturing, quality and supply management organizations;
  • Analyze assignments and determines engineering specifications which must be fulfilled for complex problems or projects of moderate scope;
  • Expert user of critical technology;
  • Develops new applications of technology for product development;
  • Lead in resolution of product-line based difficult technical issues whether within the company or with outside suppliers.
  • Up to 20% domestic and international travel required. Must live near a major airport. Must live within normal commuting distance of the worksite. Up to 20% remote work allowed.

What Skills You Need
  • 4 years of experience in design, synthesize and simulate large-scale systems using Verilog Hardware Description Language (HDL) for FPGA/ASIC
  • 4 years of hands on Experience with EDA tools, including Siemens ModelSim/QuestaSim and Xilinx Vivado/ISE FPGA design tools
  • 4 years of experience with electronics laboratory tools used for testing digital radios, including oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, spectrum analyzers, signal generators, and multimeters
  • 4 years of work experience designing digital circuitry, including high-speed logic (100 MHz to 750 MHz) signaling
  • 4 years of work experience designing/debugging GNSS, SATCOM, modems, transceivers, and other digital communication systems
  • 4 years of experience in solid understanding of digital signal processing fundamentals and implementation techniques
  • 4 years of experience in create self-checking test environment using UVM to debug the RTL and ensure the functional intent of the DUT
  • 4 years of experience in generate scripts to setup the RTL simulation, regressions
  • 4 years of experience in perform timing closure for the RTL core logic (FPGA)

Education/Experience
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering or related field plus 4 years related experience.
