Job DescriptionKPFF is seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Computer Science intern to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate is eager to apply their academic knowledge and hands-on skills with the Godot Engine to real-world software and simulation projects. This internship provides an excellent opportunity to collaborate closely with our experienced team, engage in challenging development tasks, and enhance professional growth in a supportive environment.
Position Overview
This is a non-exempt, temporary position. All overtime hours are paid at a time-and-a-half hourly rate.
Salary
The pay rate for this position is $30.50 an hour for interns awarded a bachelor's degree prior to the start of the internship.
Monthly Way We Work stipend to assist with remote work and transit expenses.
Qualifications- Recent graduate or current student nearing completion of a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a closely related field.
- Practical programming experience, particularly with the Godot Engine (GDScript and/or C#).
- Basic understanding of game- or simulation-development concepts such as nodes/scenes, scripting, physics, and input handling.
- Proficiency in at least one general-purpose programming language (e.g., Python, Java, C++).
- Familiarity with version control systems, especially Git.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, capable of clearly articulating technical ideas.
- Demonstrated ability to problem-solve through debugging, performance profiling, and iterative development.
- Self-motivated, quick learner with the capability to manage multiple tasks in a collaborative, fast-paced setting.

Physical Demands and Work Environment
- Duties are performed in a normal office environment while sitting at a desk or computer table.
- Duties require the ability to actively engage with a computer for several hours per day.
- May occasionally need to lift items up to 15 lbs.
