Role Overview:

We are seeking an Executive Principal to lead the quality, operations, and business performance of Hyundai, Kia, and Genesis built‑in navigation and connected services in North America. This role oversees end‑to‑end navigation software quality, service operations, content provider management, customer experience improvement, and regional business growth. You will act as the North America product owner, ensuring seamless service delivery, stable operations, and strategic collaboration with HQ. As IVI team leader, you will also drive organizational development and talent growth.

 

What You Will Be Doing

Navigation Quality & Product Ownership

  • Oversee quality management of North American built‑in navigation systems across Hyundai/Kia/Genesis vehicles.
  • Manage biannual software/map update events for existing and new mass‑production vehicles.
  • Establish and execute local evaluation plans; collaborate with HQ development/quality teams to validate and improve software, maps, and services.
  • Address customer feedback through local call center insights and ensure accurate, fast issue resolution.

 

Connected Services Operations

  • Build and manage the operational framework for server‑based routing, real‑time charging station information, and other connected services.
  • Lead incident management, monitoring, reporting, and coordination with HQ and cross‑functional teams.
  • Oversee personnel planning, training, performance, and first‑level response operations.

Content Provider Management

  • Manage contracts, quality metrics, and communication with North American content partners.
  • Conduct regular content evaluations and drive KPI‑based quality improvement activities with HQ and local vendors.

Sales & Business Management

  • Oversee navigation product sales operations, including sales analysis, receivables, invoicing, and market risk assessment.
  • Communicate customer needs and market trends to HQ; support identification of new business opportunities.
  • Contribute to sales expansion initiatives and new customer development in North America.

Leadership & Organizational Development

  • Lead IVI team operations, HR development, project execution, and performance management.
  • Foster expertise in navigation technologies and strengthen communication between HAEA and HQ.

 

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Automotive Technology, Business, IT Service Operations, or related field (Master’s preferred).
  • 10+ years of automotive industry experience, including 4+ years in leadership or supervisory roles.
  • Experience with connected car services, in‑vehicle software (IVI, telematics), or mobility solutions.
  • Proficiency with collaboration tools (e.g., JIRA, Confluence).
  • Exposure to test automation tools.
  • Willingness to conduct extended driving evaluations.

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Strong understanding of connected car platforms, navigation systems, and telematics technologies.
  • Familiarity with automotive standards such as ISO 26262, ASPICE, or IATF 16949.
  • Experience with IT service management platforms and incident response procedures.
  • Skilled in project planning, resource management, and performance oversight.
  • Proven ability to mentor, train, and develop team members.
  • Excellent English communication; Korean proficiency strongly preferred for HQ collaboration.
  • Experience working with global teams, reporting structures, and cross‑regional stakeholders.

Salary Range: $181,240 - $235,600
