  • Support backend API review sessions, API testing coordination, and validation of interface agreements between mobile apps, middleware, and vehicle head units.
  • Actively participate in design and architecture discussions to ensure alignment with platform principles.
  • Coordinate development testing, UAT preparation, and cross-platform regression testing for each change deployment.

Systems & Middleware Integration

  • Work with system analysts to validate business and technical requirements for connected vehicle features, mobile app behavior, and cloud service integrations.
  • Support documentation of technical workflows, data exchanges, and API specs for integration with third-party vendors and internal systems.
  • Assist QA and development teams with technical use cases, backend debugging, and resolution of middleware/mobile communication issues.

Stakeholder Engagement & Cross-Functional Leadership

  • Facilitate requirements gathering and technical alignment workshops with internal and external stakeholders (including OEMs and Tier-1 vendors).
  • Translate complex technical updates into actionable communication for executive and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Manage vendor deliverables and ensure integration testing compliance before final acceptance.

Operational Excellence

  • Monitor, report, and track PCR status using tools like JIRA, Confluence, and MS Project.
  • Support production deployment (planned and emergency) and post-release incident analysis with a strong focus on root cause and resolution.
  • Perform post-deployment data analysis and trend reporting on system performance and user impact.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Software Engineering, Information Systems, or a closely related technical discipline.
  • 10+ years of combined experience in software project management and technical systems implementation.
  • Strong familiarity with connected vehicle platforms, mobile applications, and cloud-based backend services.
  • Technical knowledge in:
  • API architecture and tools: Understanding of REST/GraphQL APIs, with hands-on experience using Postman, Swagger, and basic API management and testing tools.

  • Mobile app development (Android/iOS): Familiar with the full development lifecycle, compliance for app store releases, and common frameworks like Kotlin, Swift, or React Native.

  • Middleware and integrations: Experience with API interfaces using ESB and basic integration patterns for connecting systems and services.

  • Databases: Knowledge of both SQL (e.g., MySQL, PostgreSQL) and NoSQL (e.g., MongoDB) databases, including how to write queries and manage data.

  • Cloud platforms: Basic experience working with cloud services like AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud for hosting, storage, and serverless functions.
  • Hands-on experience with development testing, system analysis, and platform monitoring.
  • Advanced proficiency in JIRA, Confluence, MS Project, or equivalent PM and documentation tools.
  • Proven experience managing cross-functional engineering teams (internal and vendor-based).
  • Strong understanding of SDLC and Agile/Scrum methodologies.
  • Understanding of CI/CD pipelines and DevOps frameworks.

Nice to Have:

  • 3–5 years of experience in software development or architecture.
  • Prior experience in a consulting or Tier-1 automotive supplier company.
  • Experience authoring and validating API test scripts using Postman or similar tools.

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
