Location: Fountain Valley 

Job Summary:

The Infrastructure Director is the Head of the Infrastructure Divisions. The Departments are included in the Infra Sub-Division: Infrastructure Operations and Infrastructure Planning & Architecture. The Director will define the Sub-Division strategy and lead the Department Heads in its execution. The Director will align with and support Application Sub-Division Directors and our multiple Customer Business Units (CBU) and ensure that reliable, resilient, scalable and secure infrastructure services are provided.

The Director establishes priorities and drives increasing process maturity to achieve and exceed service level target objectives. The Director develops a three-year roadmap to address business growth, new service needs and incorporation of industry good practices. The Director develops, communicates, and monitors technology standards and their adoption in coordination with the global enterprise and application teams. The Director ensures that sufficient and timely planning supports maintaining existing and future services. The Director establishes effective and efficient partnerships in delivering IT services to our customers. The breadth of responsibility includes the management of HAEA Data Centers, Private Cloud platforms, network, servers, storage, databases, etc. as well as the processes and people to deliver the IT services our customers expect.

The Director actively collaborates with Directors and other key Executives to support the enterprise and achieve our collective objectives. The Director ensures that planning, assessing, and recommending enhancements or additional equipment to increase the capacity, improve reliability and availability of all systems is accurate, effective and timely. The Director makes decisions on personnel actions (hiring, terminations, promotions, etc.) and assigns personnel to necessary projects, activities or other priorities. The Director manages the Sub-Division budget and explains and justifies IT investments.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Organizes the Sub-Division, leaders and staff, to establish and communicate IT Service capability and objectives and monitors and reports status and progress.
  • Ensures that all infrastructure assets and processes are maintained, in compliance, secure and actively monitored including publishing KPI reports of the same
  • Defines Infrastructure Strategy, Architecture and Plan and develops a three-year roadmap to address business growth, new service needs and incorporation of industry good practices
  • Supports Application leaders in their responsibility to achieve application service level targets.
  • Leads innovation within the sub-division and influences the broader enterprise and proposes organizational, process and technology changes to enhance capability and service level, to reduce cost and to provide sufficient resources.
  • Establishes a pro-active team by stabilizing operations, consolidating technologies where appropriate, automating monitoring and execution of repetitive tasks and clarifying priorities
  • Advises staff, sets priorities and establishes clear directives for operational and long-term strategic objectives
  • Drives efficiency and discipline into daily operations to achieve service level targets and cost objectives
  • Formulates, reviews and forecasts operating budgets for all customers
  • Reviews and evaluates infrastructure leaders, sets goals and prepares performance reports                                                                                                                                                      
  •  Reviews contracts and master service agreements and develops and evaluates vendor proposals
  • Interfaces with clients, provides status on problems and appropriate solutions, and reviews service levels
  • Advises or consults on organizational, procedural, and workflow plans, methods, and procedures

Required Skills, Attributes & Education:

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience, Master’s Degree preferred
  • 15+ years’ experience in senior IT management positions
  • Experience managing large vendor relationships (EMC, Microsoft preferred). Strong contract negotiation skills required, and experience making decisions and recommendations on hardware purchases based upon judgments of necessity and cost striving to increase quality of services while decreasing cost of delivery
  • A demonstrated ability to implement processes and standards, and effectively communicate those across an IS organization
  • Experience and understanding of all major technologies supported, including Unix (Solaris, AIX), AS400, RHEL, Cisco VoIP, SAP,  Microsoft Server, SQL and Exchange, Oracle databases, EMC, NetApp, Pure, Private and Public Cloud Architecture
  • Experience developing IT Strategies, Roadmaps and Budgets and executing the same
  • Experience monitoring and improving performance of Managed Service Partners.
  • Cost management including cost allocation of resources/services in a shared service model.
  • Technical project management
  • Experience mentoring and developing personnel to develop more skills, expand capacity and take on broader responsibility
  • Experience in automotive, finance or similar industries is a plus

Salary Range
$191,000 - $250,000
