REPORTS TO: General Manager; with a dotted line to Corporate Director of Human Resources

 

STATUS: Exempt

 

JOB SUMMARY: Manage all areas of Human Resources administration

 

Physical Requirements:

 

  • Sitting: Frequently. Standard office furniture.
  • Standing/Walking: Occasionally. When conducting training sessions. To transfer documents, files, memos to other parts of the hotel
  • Crouching: Occasionally. Place or retrieve items from floor or lower shelves.
  • Stooping: Frequently. To place or retrieve files.
  • Twisting: Frequently. Conversing with associates and guests, working on computer.
  • Handling: Frequently. Typing, computer keyboard, papers, files, phone.
  • Grasping: Frequently. Opening doors and drawers.
  • Pushing/pulling: Occasionally. 20 lbs - chairs, file drawers, filing systems.
  • Lifting/carrying: Occasionally. 10 lbs – dockets, ledgers, binders, data and small tools.

 

 

 

Working Environment:

  • Interior of hotel, in all areas of the hotel
  • Exterior of hotel with exposure to weather condition

DUTIES & FUNCTIONS:

Essential:

  • Recruitment, selection and onboarding of management and hourly employees. Processing and finalizing new hires into the system.
  • Assist with the development and implementation of policies and procedures.
  • Benefits and salary administration.
  • Assist with training and development of management and hourly employees.
  • Assist managers in lowering attrition.
  • Administer Worker’s Compensation claims and Workplace Safety
  • Maintain an employee and labor relations program which provides fair and consistent treatment to all employees so they will be committed to their jobs and loyal to Lone Star Court.
  • Evaluate reasonable accommodations to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
  • Hosting and setting up of new hire orientation at properties.
  • Job Descriptions and Performance Appraisal administration
  • Maintenance of all applicant and personnel files.
  • Advice and counsel to managers and supervisors regarding personnel practices, policy and employment laws.
  • Unemployment claims administration
  • Compliance with all state and federal discrimination and employment regulations
  • Compensation and Benefits:
  • Annual wage surveys. Local by calling area hotels and using Wage watchers.
  • Compensation and reward program.
  • Annual increases
  • Assist with management and administration all direct benefits (Medical, Dental, Vision, Life, Voluntary life, Short Term Disability, Long Term Disability, Flexible Spending Account, 401K, Employee assistance program, wellness program and travel assistance program).
  • Federal and State record keeping requirements
  • Federal and state reporting compliance
  • Federal and state posting requirements
  • Assist and administration Training and Development programs
  • Process biweekly payroll
  • HRIS maintenance and management
  • Administration assistance for General Manager. Duties include reporting, tracing, scheduling, organization, and GM discretion of needs (falling within light office duties).
  • Monitor and reply to Guest Reviews both internal and online
  • Assist in Hotel ran functions for employees
  • AR assistance in billing and collecting of Accounts Receivables
  • Administer Employee relations with milestones, information boards and charity.

 

Basics:

  • Relentlessly train and motivate customer service employees
  • Maintain integrity of cost controls and proper maintenance of assets
  • Attend required meetings
  • Keep work areas clean and organized
  • Be extremely courteous to all customers and fellow employees
  • Report unsafe conditions immediately
  • Maintain hotel equipment in proper working conditions
  • Any other duties assigned by your supervisor
Qualifications

ESSENTIAL SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellence time management, public speaking, and problem-solving skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and presentation software
  • Ability to operate media equipment such as projectors and personal computers
  • Good organization skills, leadership, and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work with a team and have attention to detail
  • Ability to communicate effectively with management and other departments

 

CANDIDATE PROFILE

Education and Experience

  • 2-year degree from an accredited university in Human Resources, Hotel and Restaurant Management, Hospitality, Business Administration, or related major;  3 years experience in hotel human resources Management or related professional area.
  • Or
  • 4-year bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Hotel and Restaurant Management, Hospitality, Business Administration, or related major; 3 years experience in hotel human resources Management or related professional area.
