Responsibilities include PLC/DCS programming, SCADA/HMI development, ISA-88 batch control, SIS configuration, historian and enterprise integration, instrumentation sizing and commissioning, protocol interfacing, OT cybersecurity support, FAT/SAT execution, troubleshooting, contractor oversight, and mentoring junior engineers.

Lead specification, selection, integration, and commissioning of process instrumentation for high-temperature, high-pressure helium systems, turbomachinery, cooling systems, and reactor support equipment. Develop datasheets, P&IDs, loop/wiring diagrams, and commissioning procedures. Support reactor protection and process control design, lead calibration/FAT/SAT/startup activities, establish instrumentation standards, and mentor junior engineers.

Design and maintain financial systems infrastructure, lead system integrations, optimize finance systems, and ensure compliance with internal controls and data security.

The BI Systems Manager will own and develop Valar's data infrastructure and platform, leading a team, managing data systems, and ensuring effective reporting and analytics processes are in place as the company scales its operations.

Provide high-level administrative, operational, and logistical support to the Chief of Staff and executive team. Manage complex calendars, coordinate domestic and international travel, prepare meeting materials, draft correspondence and presentations, track action items, handle confidential information, support office operations, and assist with special projects and event coordination.

Provide technical analysis, strategic research, and executive support to the CNO/CTO. Manage end-to-end procurement and supply chain for reactor construction and fuel fabrication: purchase orders, vendor management, long-lead expediting, logistics (including international freight and customs), supplier qualification, compliance with nuclear QA and trade regulations, and coordination with engineering, QA, and project teams to meet aggressive construction schedules.

Provide commercial and corporate legal support focused on contracts, project finance, EPC and construction agreements, regulatory and compliance (DOE/NRC/FERC, export controls), employment and immigration matters, corporate governance, IP, and outside counsel management for an advanced energy startup.

Oversee payroll and travel expenses management, ensuring compliance with regulations while improving processes across departments for timely and accurate employee compensation.

Perform structural analysis and sizing of static turbomachinery components across operating conditions and transients. Select high-temperature materials, verify structural margins, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to define manufacturable, robust designs and required clearances for rotating machinery.

Design and develop static and rotating turbomachinery components, create detailed 3D CAD models and drawings, apply GD&T and tolerance analysis, select materials, coordinate analyses and testing, and work with machine shops to move components from design to production.

Lead mechanical design of major subsystems from concept to production, develop 3D CAD models and drawings, perform FEA/CFD and tolerance analysis, oversee prototyping and testing, drive DFM with vendors, mentor junior engineers, and collaborate across electrical, manufacturing, and systems teams to validate and optimize performance, reliability, and manufacturability.

Lead instrumentation, controls, and electrical engineering for power conversion systems. Oversee design, integration, commissioning, operations, and team leadership to deliver safe, factory-built advanced nuclear power systems in support of pilot plant deployment.

Lead OT data architecture and implementation for reactor, fuel, and power-conversion programs. Deploy/administer historians and time-series databases, build OPC UA/MQTT/API ETL pipelines preserving timestamps/quality, design semantic data models, ensure controlled air-gapped/unidirectional transfers, optimize retention/performance/recovery, create Grafana interfaces, automate with C#/PowerShell/CMD, monitor data quality/storage/backup, perform cybersecurity testing, and lead field commissioning, vendor escalations, and runbook documentation.

The role focuses on leading quality assurance in nuclear technology by establishing quality systems that support rapid innovation and compliance within an R&D environment. Collaboration with engineering teams and regulatory bodies is essential, alongside the development of creative solutions for quality challenges and building a future-proof Quality Management System.

Lead and build a lean strategic sourcing team to set supplier strategy, drive total cost of ownership reductions through should-cost modeling and negotiations, create strategic supplier agreements, partner cross-functionally to scale processes, present results to executives, and identify/mitigate supply-base risks.
