Provides direct nursing care to high-acuity cardiac patients in a cardiovascular operating room. Prepares surgical rooms, verifies specialized equipment, maintains sterile technique, monitors hemodynamics, manages blood products, assists with cardiac devices, responds to emergencies, documents intraoperative care, coordinates patient handoffs, participates in on-call coverage, mentors junior nurses, and supports continuous improvement.

Registers and schedules patients, verifies insurance, collects payments, supports a positive patient experience, communicates with internal departments, follows applicable guidelines, and uses hospital registration and information systems. The role requires clerical accuracy, medical terminology, strong keyboarding and computer skills, and basic telephone communication.

Leads abdominal transplant coordination and nursing standards for outpatient and post-transplant patients. Manages evaluation, listing, donor procurement, recipient preparation, admissions, education, documentation, referrals, and follow-up. Maintains UNOS and TIEDI records, ensures CMS and OPTN/UNOS compliance, supports quality improvement, standardizes workflows, and provides coaching to transplant coordinators. Collaborates with patients, families, providers, insurers, referring physicians, and transplant leadership on clinical and operational issues.

Provides direct perioperative patient care, including assessments, nursing interventions, pain management, medication administration, specimen collection, patient education, and discharge planning. Collaborates with the healthcare team, applies evidence-based nursing practices, evaluates care plans, and addresses ethical, legal, and medical concerns. The role also requires participation in clinical ladder activities and professional development.

Supports operating room teams with patient positioning, prepping, transfers, equipment and specialty-item preparation, room turnover, cleaning, specimen transport, and basic patient care. Assists surgical technologists, registered nurses, and physicians during procedures, including opening sterile supplies and preparing equipment for spinal fusion cases. May maintain procedural technology and serve as an operating room assistant. Requires at least six months of operating room assistant experience, competency training, and BLS certification.

Resolves hospital accounts and payment issues with insurers, government payors, and patients. Reviews claims, underpayments, appeals, EOBs, ERAs, contracts, billing edits, and reimbursement rates. Documents account activity, establishes payment arrangements, applies insurance codes, and handles special account situations. Collector II employees support multiple payors or departments, research complex issues, assist with peer training, and contribute to special projects while meeting productivity and quality standards.

Performs routine CT examinations under the direction of technical and medical supervisors, educates patients and families, provides service recovery, follows radiation safety and regulatory requirements, participates in quality improvement, and supports departmental policies. May provide call coverage or rotate among nearby imaging centers. Requires California radiologic licensure, ARRT radiology and CT credentials, BLS certification, and venipuncture certification.

Support CMS and other government audits (RAC, MAC, TPE, CERT, OIG, QIO) by preparing audit documentation, processing mail and data entry, managing billing compliance, and corresponding with government contractors for pre- and post-payment audits.

Lead ownership of a $1B+ fixed asset portfolio (including ~$750M CIP). Manage end-to-end fixed asset lifecycle, CIP tracking and inservice transitions, journal entries, reconciliations, audit support, and cross-functional partnership to ensure accuracy, internal controls, and process improvement in a regulated healthcare environment.

Manage the financial lifecycle of clinical trials and research grants: budgeting, sponsor negotiations, invoicing, revenue management, post-award monitoring, compliance (FDA/ICH/GCP/MCA), reporting, and team leadership. Oversee policy/procedure development, Medicare Coverage Analysis, CTMS and ERP usage, and provide financial analysis and variance reporting to investigators and leadership.

Provide pre- and post-transplant clinical pharmacy services for abdominal transplant recipients; participate in multidisciplinary rounds; review medication profiles; develop drug protocols and guidelines; consult, monitor, and direct drug therapies; educate patients, caregivers, and staff; maintain and improve pharmaceutical care services and participate in quality improvement and related committees.

Provides direct critical care nursing in CCU/Neuro/ICU/Sub-ICU settings including assessments, medication administration, interventions, telemetry/ECG, specimen collection, nutrition, pain management, patient/family teaching, discharge planning, and participation in unit councils and committees.

Provides extracorporeal support and monitoring for adult cardiovascular patients in the CVOR. Manages heart-lung machines, ECLS, blood conservation, anticoagulation, blood gas and chemistry analysis, administers medications/blood products per physician orders, prepares and maintains perfusion equipment, documents care, completes pre-procedure checklists, responds on-call within 30 minutes, mentors perfusion staff, and contributes to departmental training, protocol review, and research dissemination.

Lead and manage transplant nurse coordination and clinical services across kidney, liver, living donation, and MCS programs. Ensure quality patient care, operational efficiency, staffing structure, UNOS/OPTN policy compliance, budgeting participation, quality improvement, and collaboration with medical, surgical, and administrative leadership. Provide 24-hour administrative call coverage.

Monitor patients' ECG and SpO2 continuously, alert nurses to changes, maintain and check monitoring equipment, perform clerical tasks (answer phones, track inventory, monitor orders), notify charge nurse of admits and maintain census, assist patients and staff, and participate in skill competency activities.

Manage patient and insurer accounts to resolve payments, appeal underpayments, interpret EOBs/ERAs, use Epic systems and billing forms, document actions, establish payment arrangements, and meet productivity and quality standards.
