When Director of HR Marisol Hernandez thinks about Dubsado, she immediately associates it with “impact.” When she first joined, she was working in the Customer Care Department forging real relationships with users. Now, she’s translating that knowledge to the employee experience and making an impact on the individuals working for Dubsado. “While our employees work to make a positive impact on the lives of business owners, we work to positively impact theirs.” Dubsado puts a heavy focus on being customer obsessed, but the customer is both the users and employees alike, and the entire team puts that in the forefront of all that they do.

Chuidian works closely with software developers and product owners to make up multiple cross functional teams. Each individual has a defined role and unique responsibilities and understands how their work fits into the greater mission, which allows them to produce meaningful results. Chuidian said, “we are invested in Dubsado’s mission and we work together for each other’s personal successes but also the team as a whole. The team is eager to grow as developers, knowing that anything they learn can open up new possibilities for the application and the lives of those we serve."

Harnessing care to improve people’s lives

Hernandez started in Dubsado’s Customer Care team. A year later, the chief people officer approached her and offered her a role in HR, where she’d secretly always wanted to work. “The thought of making people’s working lives better made me so happy,” Hernandez said. She was nervous when given the assignment of revamping the employee handbook, but her lead encouraged her to get out of her comfort zone and gave her the confidence to tackle new challenges. Now, she’s helping to transform and improve programs like performance reviews to continue to grow the overall employee experience.
I love working in a department that supports others. It is so rewarding to celebrate individual and team wins.
Genuine Joy at Work
With afforded balance, burn out isn’t a reality
McBeth and her team aren’t shy about taking time off, and whether it’s to head to Disney for the day or stay home and reset, they don’t have to explain their reason for doing so. There’s no expectation to respond to incoming emails until they’re back in office. Leadership encourages everyone to take breaks and truly log off at the end of the day and spend time outside of work. “I am thankful to have never felt burned out, and in return I love what I do and love the company that I do it for,” McBeth said. Her love for Dubsado and its afforded balance extends into her work.
