Crunchyroll Employee Perspectives
If we want to be ‘the brand’ for the diversity that defines anime, then our organization, employees and teams should equally represent that. I think we have great programs and initiatives and a great leadership team that will help us get there. I love what we’re trying to do here.

Crunchyroll recognizes the value of diverse perspectives in shaping the future of anime and entertainment. Employees are excited by the growing representation of women and underrepresented voices across the industry, both on-screen and behind the scenes, helping create richer stories, stronger teams and a more inclusive future for anime fans everywhere.
“As more women enter the anime industry, I see even more avenues for growth and impact. Women are influencing everything from high-profile series with compelling female leads to the less visible but equally important work of female artists shaping concept art and new manga. As a woman of color, I’m especially excited about the opportunity to bring more diversity into anime as a whole — both in the stories and characters we see on screen and in the teams working behind the scenes.”

Crunchyroll celebrates the diverse communities that connect through anime, recognizing the value of different cultural perspectives and experiences. Employees take pride in contributing to a global fandom while bringing their own backgrounds, identities and values to the work they do every day.
“The vibrant storytelling, rich character development, and themes of resilience in anime resonate deeply with Latinx communities. I’m proud to be part of an organization that embraces this art form, connecting with global audiences while infusing our own cultural flair and values.”

Crunchyroll is committed to fostering an inclusive workplace where employees can build community, support one another and help drive meaningful change. Through employee resource groups and dedicated programming, employees have opportunities to connect, advocate and celebrate the diverse perspectives that strengthen the organization.
“Crunchyroll’s corporate commitment to DEI has allowed CRWN (Crunchyroll Women’s Network, pronounced ‘Crown’), our oldest employee resource group, to thrive and lead the way for equality and equity for women in the workplace. CRWN has the freedom and funding to create events and leverage female-driven programming in an effort to include, connect, empower and advocate for women at the company. We also lead Women’s History Month, and we spotlight exceptional women at Crunchyroll.”

Crunchyroll is committed to fostering an inclusive workplace where employees feel supported, represented and empowered to be themselves. Through employee resource groups, community-building initiatives and opportunities to amplify employee voices, the company creates spaces for connection, advocacy and belonging.
“We aim to create safe and welcoming spaces for our LGBTQIA+ employees and cultivate a culture of belonging where employees can be their most authentic selves.
Our Rainbow Roll LGBTQIA+ employee resource group hosts meet-ups in our U.S. offices to build trust and listen to our community. We have a digital space on Slack for our LGBTQ+ members to share articles, discuss news and of course, anime. We give our LGBTQIA+ employees spotlights on LinkedIn and give them a platform to share their stories on our Crunchyroll news site.”
