The Director of Human Resources leads HR strategy, culture, employee engagement, compensation, succession planning, recruiting, onboarding, training, performance management, employee relations, benefits, compliance, and HR operations. Serving on the senior leadership team, this role advises executives, manages HR staff and budgets, supports ESOP communications, and helps scale the organization across multiple sites, including Mexico. The position is based in-office at the Goleta, California headquarters.

Provides summer support to engineers through assigned work and assistance with engineering activities.

Owns product lifecycle management from market analysis and business cases through specifications, pricing, positioning, development, and launch. Leads cross-functional product development and improvement projects, collaborates with engineering, marketing, sales, operations, and customers, and supports the product roadmap. The role requires strong analytical, technical, communication, organizational, and project management skills, with occasional travel to trade shows, classes, and field demonstrations.

Develops and improves manufacturing processes, tooling, equipment, workcells, and production methods. Leads new product launches, continuous improvement, corrective actions, ECO projects, cost reduction, time studies, line balancing, and manufacturing issue resolution. Maintains manufacturing documentation and ERP data, supports production teams, designs fixtures, and trains operators. Requires experience with lean manufacturing, SolidWorks, fabrication, inspection tools, ERP systems, CAD drawings, and root cause analysis.

Design and develop textile-based PPE and life-safety equipment such as harnesses, belts, bags, and lanyards. Lead products from concept through prototyping, testing, certification, manufacturing, and launch. Create sewn prototypes, conduct structural and dynamic testing, prepare engineering documentation, support suppliers, drive design reviews, and ensure performance, safety, quality, and manufacturability requirements are met.
