The Controller leads accounting, financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, treasury, investments, audits, internal controls, compliance, and consolidated reporting across a complex nonprofit organization and its operating entities. The role supervises accounting staff, manages business procedures, oversees financial systems including Sage Intacct and Dayforce, supports capital projects, and presents financial results to executive leadership and the Board.

Coordinates marketing and communications project intake, timelines, deliverables, approvals, campaign workflows, production logistics, vendor communications, purchasing documentation, and status reporting. The role monitors bottlenecks, facilitates cross-functional collaboration, supports promotional material orders, and recommends workflow improvements across the Marketing, Communication, and Design department.

Leads strategic and operational human resources functions, including talent acquisition, performance management, employee relations, benefits, leave administration, engagement, compliance, safety, and HR programs. Advises leaders, investigates workplace issues, manages HR projects and metrics, oversees vendors and events, and supervises HR staff. Ensures compliance with federal and California employment laws while supporting organizational culture, workforce planning, and employee development.

Oversees accounting and financial operations, including GAAP compliance, reconciliations, payroll, budgeting, financial reporting, audits, cash management, banking transactions, and journal entries. Supervises accounting staff, manages policies and controls, coordinates with HR and auditors, supports financial systems, and presents budget proposals to organizational committees.

Oversees end-to-end payroll processing, payroll accounting, reconciliations, employee corporate credit card administration, compliance, audits, and financial reporting. Manages Dayforce requirements, validates payroll data, coordinates with HR and benefit carriers, resolves discrepancies, and supports month-end and year-end close. Provides employee support and supervises one Staff Accountant while contributing to accounting process improvements and internal controls.
