Fearlessness helped Vento take the leap into starting her own business.  She shares some of the other secret weapons she has in her arsenal.

WHAT DO YOU DO?
I'm the Founder/CEO of Santa Monica-based PR firm, 30 Miles North

HOW DID YOU BECOME AN ENTREPRENEUR?
I was working in-house PR at a popular LA-based fashion retailer during the economy crisis a few years back. I had been with the company for 3 years. Several of the brands I was working with asked if I could work freelance for them because times were tight and they did not have a budget for a PR agency. The idea for 30MN was seeded so I left my job to pursue my own business.

WHAT'S THE BEST ADVICE YOU'VE EVER RECEIVED?
To get a good lawyer and accountant! I have to thank my father for this solid advice.

WHAT IS YOUR BIGGEST CHALLENGE ON A DAILY BASIS?
Delegating tasks. I get inundated with work and can sometimes forget that I have an amazing and talented team that is always willing to help with my work load. Thanks team30!

WHAT'S YOUR SECRET WEAPON?
I am fearless. It's an easy superhero power to attain, you just have to want it.

WHAT'S YOUR FAVORITE INDULGENCE?
Shooting pool! I love competition and I love geometry and physics so billiards is fitting.  The most indulgent part is beating  boys who underestimate me.

WHAT WAS YOUR FIRST JOB?
I played sports year round in high school so my first job was when I was 18 after I moved to Los Angeles from Wasco, CA ("30 Miles North" of Bakersfield). I got hired to work at a tanning salon. It was the perfect college job. I had plenty of time to do homework and the owner supported his staff in doing so.

DO YOU HAVE ANY ADVICE FOR YOUNGER WOMEN?
Be fearless. Don't be afraid of success. Surround your self with hard-working successful people. Stick to your word. Learn to work in a team. Learn to handle stress or stressful situations elegantly.
