Dubbing itself as an 'after-hours' accelerator, HUB101 is going where others haven't. When HUB101 opens its doors, it won't be at 9am. Instead, this startup accelerator will be open evenings and weekends for founders who may not otherwise be able to participate in a full-time daytime accelerator.

"Statistically, startup founders with experience are more likely to succeed, even though they follow a different path to entrepreneurship. The challenge with many accelerators today is that they structurally exclude founders who can't entirely give up their lives, which is why many accelerators aren't as diverse as they should be. We want to change that," said Ginger Zumaeta, Founder. "Experienced professionals, women, minorities and veterans. We believe that's where the next big ideas are going to come from. "

Located away from the accelerator-dense Santa Monica, HUB101 will be hosted by OfficeSlice in Sherman Oaks, and promises to be a mentor-intensive accelerator that will customize its program to give its founders the push, the skills and the relationships that will put them in the best position to create sustainable high-impact businesses that survive beyond the first critical years.

"Starting a company is challenging on so many levels.  Our hope is that we can give entrepreneurs the guidance and support to execute the idea as intelligently and efficiently as possible," said Ian Sephton, CoFounder. "Not every startup can be an "Instagram" or "Facebook" but there is a large underserved start up community that needs advice and direction."

Applications to participate in HUB101's first cohort are being taken until December 6 at www.hub101.co, with the program itself likely starting in February 2014.

HUB101 is a structured mentorship-driven startup accelerator focused on serving underrepresented entrepreneurs. Our partners and mentors work side-by-side with founders to help them validate, build and launch high-impact businesses by providing the guidance, access, and exposure needed to succeed. @Hub101LA
