This month, Built in Los Angeles will be featuring some “hot” startups across the various neighborhoods that, although may feel like different worlds at times, make up LA’s budding digital ecosystem. To recommend a startup or district of LA that deserves some love, email [email protected]

Hollywood-based Powerhouse Creative is an independent digital interactive agency that works on projects such as mobile apps, web apps and video streaming: “What we offer, everybody needs,” cofounder Isaac Swiderski said. They have worked with everyone from startups to large publically-traded companies, which Swiderski declined to name because he said “most of our juicy work falls under confidentiality agreements.” (Although Built In LA did a little research and found that Powerhouse Creative is behind the mobile app and site of LA-based Drinkeasy.)

The numbers: Their 15-person “crew,” as Swiderski likes to call the team, has worked on for a couple hundred clients since 2012. Powerhouse Creative is an entirely privately-held company built off its revenues to date, Swiderski said.

Where to find them: “If you threw a dart at the epicenter of Hollywood, we’re right there,” Swiderski said about the team which is headquartered right off of Sunset and Vine.

In 2014: they are “looking towards some large projects,” which although cannot be named, are already exciting the team as they start the design process. They are looking to bring more back-end programmers, UI/UX designers and “hybrids” to their team over the next year.
