Last week bringhub’s CTO spent a day at the dispatching office of one of our same-day courier partners, Now Services, gathering insights & working with them to develop our MYDELIVERY product. Decades of knowledge from these industry professionals along with bringhub’s technology is bringing you the next generation of same-day delivery that is sustainable, convenient & most importantly affordable (starting at just $6.99!).
The team imparted valuable insights into dispatching operations & also had some good stories to tell on the history of same-day delivery. Couriers are one of the oldest professions in the US & are of particular historical importance to West Coast commerce. During the gold rush supplies & gold had to be transported quickly & the Pony Express route is credited with keeping California in the Union during the Civil War. More recently, some of the office veterans recount tales of manual dispatching & routing via flip-cards & pinboards! In more modern times local same-day couriers have held the important responsibility of legal document & organ delivery.
The bringhub model allows us to partner with any delivery service, but it is their experience that has led us to make our first partnerships with these local couriers. While many tech companies are seeking to modernize same-day delivery by building up their own delivery fleets or logistics engines, we see that tapping into this knowledge & skill is invaluable.
