TigerText, an SMS platform designed to improve security for intra-business communication, announced a 750% increase in message volume after the first half of 2014 yesterday.
The company attributes its growth to rapid customer acquisition and recent large-scale partnerships. Since the start of 2014, TigerText has welcomed an average of over 300 new facilities each month and joined forces with Verizon and PCMall, which has amplified its credence and visibility.
"The explosion of SMS has transformed the communication habits of consumers globally,” said co-founder and CEO Brad Brooks in a statement. “While SMS has been successful for individuals, it missed the chance to replace instant messaging in the enterprise because of its inherent security flaws and lack of administrative controls. TigerText’s dramatic growth has been driven by enterprises looking for the benefits of SMS, but in a solution that was built to satisfy corporate safeguards and administrative requirements.”
TigerText has seen noteworthy progress in the years following its 2010 inception. Since expanding its market share within the first half of 2014, the company has developed a strong presence in the medical industry. A number of healthcare organizations, including Universal Health Services, Boston Children’s Hospital, and NAMMCalifornia, have adopted the messaging app. Furthermore, the company’s customer base now totals 5,000, a 150 percent increase from the first half of 2013, with a 60 percent increase in paying customers.
The company said these achievements are results of a rollout of new functionality over the last year and a half. One of the company’s most notable recent developments is its open API TigerConnect, which allows developers to use TigerText’s platform to communicate with customers, partners and other third parties securely and in compliance with HIPAA, HITECH, and other industry regulations.
"We quickly recognized the need for a secure messaging solution that would keep us compliant while simplifying our communication process and improving staff responsiveness," said Bruce Harris, Director of IT at NAMMCalifornia. "TigerText not only met our strict requirements, but also provided the flexibility and scalability we needed to deploy the solution enterprise-wide. We look forward to working with them to help us break down communication barriers and silos, while effectively managing HIPAA compliance risk."
To accelerate its already exponential growth, the company continues to focus on enhancing its product. “For the remainder of 2014 we will continue to invest heavily in our messaging apps and the TigerConnect API as we expand our offerings to the enterprise,” said Brooks.
