Robot coffee-maker Briggo scores $3.45M
The automated coffee machine startup Briggo raised $3.45 million from three investors, according to a SEC filing on Tuesday. This marks the company's first funding since almost exactly two years ago when they closed $5.7 million. Launching in 2011, Briggo develops coffee vending kiosks for universities, airports, hospitals and office buildings with web-based ordering. [formDs]
data.world closes $18.7M funding round
Following a $14 million Series A announced last July when data.world launched from stealth mode, the Austin startup this week raised an additional $18.7 funding round. A series of investment firm and angel investors contributed including Chicago Ventures, Fyrfly Venture Partners, Hunt Technology Ventures LP, LiveOak Venture Partners, and the co-founder of Whole Foods. Localeur goes live in Canada
Localeur announced this week that it's now live in over 40 cities, including its first international expansion with the additions of the Toronto and Vancouver markets. The startup's CEO and co-founder, Joah Spearman, said this is the first step in going global and follows four consecutive months of 100 percent user growth. BigCommerce names new CMO
BigCommerce announced Alexandra Shapiro as the company's new CMO on Wednesday. For the past two years, Shapiro served as BigCommerce's senior VP of marketing where she helped the company grow its mid-market customer base by 400 percent to include more than 2,000 mid-market retailers. Klever Logic rebrands as FlashParking
Following a $3 million round of funding in November, the parking startup Klever Logic has grown its team from 12 to 36 people and rebranded under the name of FlashParking. Under the new name, they will continue supporting its portfolio of products including FlashValet, FlashPARCS, and FlashMobile.
