5 awesome events to check out this week

As we inch closer to summer, companies are becoming more active in the ways they engage the community. Here are five opportunities to get out and see what the LA tech scene is up to this week. 

Angel Investing: Show Me the Money, May 24 at 6 p.m.

This month's LA Catalyst Roundtable discussion on on the world of Angel/Early Seed Investing. The panel will lead an engaging discussion to reveal their perspectives from both sides of the deal. 

Technology Commission Debrief & Happy HourMay 25 at 3:30 p.m.

The recently formed Long Beach Technology and Innovation Commission meets every fourth Wednesday of the month. Discussion includes the implementation and use of technology by the city of Long Beach. Members of the tech community routinely attend and participate in these meetings, and afterwards the group head to a happy hour at our monthly bar or restaurant.  

SoCal React Meetup with Facebook Software Engineer & React AuthorMay 25 at 6:30 p.m.

React, an LA-based framework for web and mobile apps, is kicking off its monthly speaking series with Facebook software engineer Stoyan Stefanov. Attendees are invited for drinks after the event.

LATHH @ Investor Festival (Open bar networking)May 26 at 6 p.m.

LA Tech happy hour at the Investor Festival is a great opportunity for LA startups to pitch your business to angels, accelerators and venture firms. The event will feature live music and a hosted bar.

Startup toolkit: pop-up classMay 19 at 6:00 p.m.

 

is hosting a pop-up class for entrepreneurs. Presented by rhubarb's Entrepreneur in Residence, Ryan Prust, attendees will get hands-on experience with startup methodology.
