LA-based startup accelerator StartEngine, in a partnership with TENTEN Wilshire, will open a new office at 1010 Wilshire Blvd to provide their startups with space and opportunities for growth across Los Angeles. Downtown LA is a major up-and-coming area for technology startups with easy access to the USC Viterbi School of Engineering and the new office is located only a few metro stops from Pasadena. TENTEN Wilshire, a real estate holding of the Amidi Group, is located within walking distance of LA Center Studios, the Wilshire Grand Redevelopment Project, LA Live, and offers the nation’s only “lifestyle solution for professionals wanting to live, work and play”. The office, a split-level loft, is the only dedicated incubator space located at TENTEN Wilshire, a building already populated with entrepreneurs, startups, and professionals from a variety of industries including technology, entertainment, fashion, gaming, finance, legal and more.
The office will offer StartEngine’s wide array of startups additional space, increased exposure across LA, a chance to mingle with other companies found in the building and at social events held on the roof, as well as access to a quickly growing area of Los Angeles. The new office will put StartEngine and their newest crop of companies within reach of Silver Lake, home to SilverLakeHQ, The University of Southern California, many startups such as Two Bit Circus, and new media giant, Machinima. StartEngine’s new office will have access to all of the amenities offered by TENTEN Wilshire, the technology hub of downtown LA and the go-to space for startups on LA’s East Side.
The TENTEN Wilshire community’s goal is to offer a space for tech entrepreneurs, small businesses and young professionals to grow, network and expand across downtown, a large but relatively untapped market. Helping to fuel a rebirth of the area, TENTEN Wilshire houses 227 fully furnished, live/work units, and over 243,000 square feet of space for businesses to rent and expand into as their companies grow. The building is designed to eliminate many of the major barriers to budding entrepreneurs including distribution of capital between living space and office space. Additionally, due to clever zoning regulations, TENTEN Wilshire is able to provide StartEngine and the other companies located on the premises special tax benefits including: live/work tax deductions, hiring credits, sales and work opportunity tax credits, utility costs, and expense and interest deductions. TENTEN Wilshire, through its green-standards, a coming expansion, and this new partnership with startup accelerator StartEngine, hopes to create 16,000 long-term jobs for Los Angeles.
