July is the time of year when a lot of folks assess their progress for the year. Sure, many New Year’s resolutions fell by the wayside months ago, but there are plenty of other goals on the horizon. Here at Built In Los Angeles, it’s no different. And looking at where we are now compared to our launch in January has yielded one spectacular milestone: the 1,000 member mark!

As our humble—and awesome—CEO Maria Katris states, Built In LA was created to “connect, educate and promote” digital entrepreneurs in the Los Angeles area. Powered by a small but passionate team, we’ve seen this site grow from a tight-knit group of like-minded business people to a bona fide community of entrepreneurs, VCs, developers, designers, students and more.

Not only are we growing, but we’re thrilled to be adding community members every day. In the span of a single month, we increased our membership by 40% and our social following by 30%. Plus, we are pleased to host over 1,200 company pages, with over 300 claimed in one month.

This is all to say, thank you for not only being a part of Built In LA but for your contributions to it. The community is what makes Built In LA a destination for so many digital entrepreneurs and we thank you for your support and engagement in our cause. Each and every addition, from simply creating a profile to posting a blog, job or event, helps strengthen our presence and improve our standing as a resource for those who need us.

In case you weren't aware of all of the features available to you through our site, we invite you to explore:

Here’s to a great first six months! We look forward to seeing what the rest of 2013 brings.
